Have you ever read any Neil Gaiman? I’m wondering how closely this compares to some of his works, specifically my mind goes to The Ocean at the End of the Lane for some reason. Most likely because of the odd nature of the setting itself. Great review!
I do like Neil Gaiman! I think Ocean at the End of the Lane would be a good comparison. (I should go back and re-read that, actually!)
