The June BOM is Soulless by Gail Carriger

Alexia Tarabotti is laboring under a great many social tribulations.

First, she has no soul. Second, she's a spinster whose father is both Italian and dead. Third, she was rudely attacked by a vampire, breaking all standards of social etiquette.

Where to go from there? From bad to worse apparently, for Alexia accidentally kills the vampire--and then the appalling Lord Maccon (loud, messy, gorgeous, and werewolf) is sent by Queen Victoria to investigate.

With unexpected vampires appearing and expected vampires disappearing, everyone seems to believe Alexia responsible. Can she figure out what is actually happening to London's high society? Will her soulless ability to negate supernatural powers prove useful or just plain embarrassing? Finally, who is the real enemy, and do they have treacle tart?

I have read this one (August 2017). I enjoyed it and gave it 4 stars. I put the rest of the books for this series and the spin-off on my wishlist, and there they have stayed, lol.

I loved this 5 book series, the spinoff YA one not so much.

Re-read last month for a challenge and it stands up. Just a note for those reading the series, there is a cliffhanger from book #2 to book #3 :)

I know a lot of people love this series, but I was never able to get into it.

I never got into the series, but I thoroughly enjoyed Soulless.
