I read The Wind in The Willows and at the start I found it quite boring. Throughout the book I got quite bored, but to the end it was quite cute and lovely. In the book it is about a mole who meets a rat and they go on all sorts adventures including trying to save their friend the toad from prison. Over all I really enjoyed this book and it was quite an interesting classic.

I read this in college for a children's literature class and I think I may re-read it. I vaguely remember that I liked it.
I read THE WIND IN THE WILLOWS recently for the very first time. I enjoyed this book very much and I'm in my late seventies.
Thank you John. I am taking my mother to the library tomorrow and I've been telling her about the book and it's one we're going to check out of the library. She is also in her late seventies. She read voraciously when I was a kid. She used to take us to the library a lot. She's a little isolated now so she needs some little outings and a good book to get into.
Evocative reading, and if you like to hear the stories aloud, there are movies and recordings. I cherish the book and I'm 70 also. I've read it over and over, and have watched the DVD many times. There's one called The Willows in Winter on the DVD as well--same characters, excellent animation, seamless with the book.
