What is your favorite Dresden Files book?

Sorry about that, David! It should be working now!
Sorry about that, David! It should be working now!
Storm Front and Changes so far are my favorite ones. It is super hard to actual pick a favorite because I have been reading this series for well over a decade now. But Storm Front I found as a senior in high school so it holds a special place in my heart because it introduced me to such a wonderful series! I remember just barreling through the book because I just couldn’t put it down. But Changes though...shew that one got me in the heartstrings. I remember being in tears while listening to the last chapters via the amazing audiobook reading by James Marsters to just sitting in shock after that ending! I am looking so forward to the next one!
I'm not all caught up on the books - haven't read the last two - but I think so far Summer Knight and Changes are at the top of my list
Storm Front ... The first book in a series like this is always magical, but even more so with Dresden.
Dead Beat, the first one I read, is still my favorite. It was an excellent introduction to the series, which is weird for book 7.
I really liked Death Masks. We meet more Knights of the Cross, see more of Michael's family, and and see Harry fighting temptation of the coin.
Summer Knight! But I haven't read them all yet. My boyfriend loves Dead Beat and he's the biggest Dresden fan I know! So he must be right!
I hadn't read any Butcher before today, but I just started "Working for Bigfoot", a collection of three Dresden Files novellas that came in a Humble Bundle a while back. So far so good!
The first book will always have a place in mg heart for getting me hooked, dead beat set the standard for the awesome to come, changes, because holy hell changes, and skin game for Harry's brilliant gambit and payoff of his character growth.
I haven't read through the whole series yet, but my favorite one so far was Summer Knight. That will be a hard one to beat for me.
"The building was on fire, and it wasn't my fault" Blood Rites is probably my favorite, because so much happens here. He finds his brother, gets Mouse, Laura becomes head of the house, not to mention this is also the first book he actually had the spells laid on his duster. This book set the stage for many to come. (Plus he works on a porno :)
Storm Front, because it was my first Dresden Book. I didn't know it was a series until after I read it, and it opened up a whole new idea of what a modern wizard could be!
I'm a huge fan of The Dresden Files. I've always said that my favorite thus far is Changes. Never has a title been so fitting. It literally changed everything we knew and came to expect from a Dresden adventure, right down to the naming scheme. It hooks you with it's opening line, and it rarely let's up the whole way, right down to one of the most emotional endings I have ever read. It's not just a great Dresden book, but a great book all around.
Dead Beat and Grave Peril we're great. But I think that Proven Guilty was my favorite. Molly and Charity's challenges. Dresden fighting off movie villians. Storming Archtis Tor with crew in toe. And at the end, the whole trial. This is a huge challenge, every book was practically increasingly better. So it became more about the events.
I just really love the series and its hard to pick a true favorite, but if I really had to pick a favorite it would probably be Grave Peril, with what it does for the series. I feel it really sets the pace for the series from then on and just gives it so much more than it had before.
Dead Beat with the zombie TRex is awesome aswell as white knight and skin game. I even got a picture of Harry riding zombie dino Sue that Jim butcher signed for me when I saw him at a NYC comic con he was wearing a burger king crown for some reason😂
Aloha, My favorite Dresden book is Blood Rites. Mouse and the back stories of all the familial relationships added so much richness and depth to the series.
All of them, the stories become more intricate, more ensnaring with each book. I've been reading them since Storm Front came out and can't quit until the series is finished, definitely one of my favorite series.
I would have to go with Changes. If there was ever a short simple title that summed up what happened I a book, this would be it.
I'd have to go with "Dead Beat" for the fun of it and range of emotions or "Changes" because Duh."Skin Game" is close to the top
Changes is definitely my favorite, but I also love Dead Beat (and Sue!!!). The entire series has been amazing, and I cannot wait for Peace Talks. However long it takes to get the book will be worth it!
I honestly cannot pick a favorite. The first two are my least favorite but that's like saying crunchy tacos are my least favorite tacos.
Oh this one is hard.Grave Peril. You meet Thomas and Michale, you see cheesy vampire costume, dragons, chaos, Susan.
It kicks off a ton of plot.
It has to be Storm Front since I just started reading these. How I missed them for so long is beyond me!
I think Storm Front is still my favorite. It may be because it was my introduction to Harry, but it was exciting and funny at the same time. I immediately knew I'd love the series.I also really liked Changes.
Definitely Dead Beat. Sue the zombie T-Rex, Butters' war cry "polka will never die", the kimmlerite healer. Loved all of it.
