I have taken Chick Lit out of my description. I have been looking at my read list and the In Death series is ringinf a bell for me.Can anyone confirm that Eve authors books and gets either Peabody or Mavis to add bits in.

All the books have different names and the overall series is just referred to collectively as "Temperance Brennen series." That is the only series I can think of that fits the description.

Thank you.
Yep thats the one. Clearly I got confused between the show and the books.
Glad you found your book series, Cat. Here's the link - Temperance Brennen series by Kathy Reichs - the first book is Déjà Dead.

Check the reviews. Way different, but good.
Maybe a little too much if you read them back-to-back, I found the last ones (ca. No. 14, paused reading them after No. 16) to feel too similar, as if written by the same frame-work-formular.
One warning, the chapters are written in a way that it is very hard (for me) to stop at a chapter end, so the books are often real page-turners and if I have to do other things (like sleeping), I tend to stop in a middle of a chapter.

The main character writes books, but may not be her main job, and gets her friend to write the sex scenes.
Read in the last couple of years and quite sure it's not an old book. Logic tells me I read it on kindle.
Will add any more details if I remember them.
