Lauren (laurenjberman) What did you think of Chaol's conflicting feelings for Celaena throughout the story?

Melissa (melissasd) | 194 comments Chaol is a very insecure individual. He seems to jump around on a lot of issues.

Lauren (laurenjberman) Chaol's changing attitudes toward Celaena made me realize he isn't the man for her.

Chaol has to find himself and what truly matters before he can commit to anyone. He doesn’t share the king’s values but pledges his unwavering loyalty to him (think Nehemia’s situation). He professes love for Celaena but not all of who she is. He gets his father’s vote for sending Celaena away by agreeing to go back home to be in a role he loathes.

I’m waiting for Chaol decide who he wants to be.

Lauren (laurenjberman) Those are good points, Jonetta.
I agree, he needs to cement his own identity before he can be with anyone.

Lieke | 83 comments He defenitely needs to learn to make some decisions by himself for himself. Hopefully they will be the right decisions.
