Beautifully written and ambitious story, dealing with themes of loss, pain and survival. Struggled with a few of the plot lines but otherwise enjoyed getting lost in the prose; the character's feelings come through powerfully, heightening anxiety or elation in the story. I suspect my appreciation will grow and evolve the more time passes.
