This is no problem! We can start you off here with some basics and if you still have questions you can ask them here or directly to a mod by private message! Don't forget you need to make characters first! You do this in the character and servant creation threads!
So let's start with some slang that is used here in goodreads for roleplaying. RP= Roleplay GR= Goodreads RL= Real Life PM= Private Message Thread/Topic= Where you post comments such as this... Mod= Short for Moderator Moderator= The person/people that run the group
I'd like to take this time to politely ask to refrain from using text language when roleplaying. It is completely okay to do this when you are out of character.
Threads
Please ask permission before making your own thread! If you have an idea for one than you may ask one of the moderators.
Rules
The general rules are always up! Basic Rp etiquette is all we are asking! That, and being nice and respectful to others. Cussing other people out or arguing intensly or consistently will get you kicked out!
Roleplaying
Now, here are some basics with how we roleplay here. Roleplaying is like writing a book with other people. So for example:
"Lancer, I need you to scout ahead for me." Nia asked as she looked around. Lancer appeared next to her. "Of course, master!" He shouted before taking off.
*The other roleplayer* "Master, I see him." Archer said as he saw a lancer taking off in the far distance. "Good. Shoot him down Archer!" Lilly responded with a smirk on her face."
Another big basic in rp'ing is the double paranthesis. You use these to talke when out of character. For example, if you are fighting with someone else you may want to find out how it will end. You can use the double paranthesis as an oppurtunity to ask. An example using the current rp. So one roleplayer may ask as such.
"Master, I see him." Archer said as he saw a lancer taking off in the far distance. "Good. Shoot him down Archer!" Lilly responded with a smirk on her face." ((Is it okay if Archer wins this one?))
*Other roleplayer* ((Sure! No killing though. We will lose and retreat. After a good fight if you don't mind.""
((Of course not!))
((Awesome.)) "Lancer!" Nia screamed out as a bright, beaming blue streak made its way to Lancer. Lancer turned around just quick enough to dodge the arrow, rolling to the right. "What was that?!" He yelled in anger.
Simple as that! A couple sidenotes. Goodreads are sometimes late with notifications so there may be times two people respond at the same time. We will have a "Find someone to Rp with" Topic for anyone having trouble finding someone to roleplay with. You can have more than 2 people roleplaying at a certain area but make sure you get the two peoples' permission first. If they are replying to each other quickly (for an intense battle or something) just wait until they slow down to ask. Some moments are going to require a bit of people in one rp (holy grail wars, etc.) make sure to establish an order just so things can go smoothly. One last emphasis... No making your character overpowered! Every character will lose at some point in their lives! Understand this and take a loss every now and than. If you have any more questions, please do not be afraid to ask! If not, than get out there! We will see you in the world soon!
