Hey - I just popped in to say that I can finally join in on a readalong. I just received the book today.
I won't be starting it until after TomeTopple.

I’m really enjoying the book so far, it’s quite an easy read and I’m finding the characters all feel fully formed and easy to remember.
Sloane’s dad is my favourite character so far, and I’m already curious about their backstory and how it will tie into the story.

So glad to see you are reading the book, Anita! Yay!!I agree Belle, this is quite an easy read and it's not hard to remember who is who. Although I do like that there is some mystery around the characters motivations, and back stories (like why was there such a reaction to Sloane standing up for Gabe in the opening of the book).
I'm totally enjoying it so far. I like how Sloane describes how she navigates a situations, a very sneaky way to adjust and switch the focus of what's going on. That said, I find it a little hard to believe such a young character can do that successfully, but we dont' know much about her yet.
The only part I'm having a hard time with is how she's described herself as someone who doesn't feel, yet she takes voice lessons. I find it hard to believe someone in the arts doesn't feel, because art is (often) about expression. But, neither of those situations have been explained (the not feeling, or seeing her sing), so hopefully that will come to light.
Very curious to see where this one goes from here!
I finally got through the first 50 pages of this book. I am liking the characters but Sloane so far. I can't quite connect with her. I'm hoping that will change as I get further into the book. I think the issue I'm having is the same as the one Riley mentioned. Sloane being someone that doesn't feel just doesn't make sense if she's supposed to be someone that is in the arts. Only 50 pages in so I'm hoping things will be explained the further I read.
Just started this for 24 I’m 48! Favorite character so far is Frank. He reminds me so much of Titus Burgess and that’s how I’m going to picture him from now on. XD Super easy breezy read so far and I’m looking forward to see where it goes!
I'm making slow progress on this, and I'm honestly a little bored I think.
It's easy to read it - sure, but I don't really feel connected to the characters, maybe because I don't really connect with Sloane and the way she describes the people around her. Her dad seems great. I'll try and read on some more and see what I think.
