I seem to have a new update to my Goodreads app and I don't like it much so far. My immediate problem is that I can't find the option to see all Unread posts which I had before. Any ideas from those of you who have the update?

I don't use an app to do Goodreads. I use my laptop and go to the Goodreads site. I still can see "unread" posts there.
Here's a link to a Feedback discussion that you might find useful. It seems the "new" app isn't very popular. https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
Barb I have the app on both Android and iPad. The Android version I have is still 1.16.1.1 so no new version here yet so no such issues
I tried the app for ipad when it first came out and didn't like it. It seems to work fine on my ipad when I just go directly to the regular website.
Thanks for that link, Sheila. i couldn't find any discussion earlier. I told them two of my complaints. In addition to lacking the Unread option, they've also thoroughly messed up the order in which our discussion groups (Reading List, Classics Corner, etc.) are listed. I asked if we can change that within our groups. Also, on a side note, they said that they are going to be doing away with the desktop version, that everything is going to be consistent across app, desktop, etc! I am really unhappy about that and said so. Unless they vastly improve the app, the desktop version is infinitely preferable. The only reason I use the app is that it shows up better on devices.

Was that an official Goodreads staff member who said that, or someone in the feedback group surmising?
B.C., it was someone in the goodreads feedback group interpreting a post from a staff member. The staff member said that both the desktop and app versions would be "responsive" design. The person interpreting said that would basically be the app design. Going back and rereading it, I hope that person has misunderstood.
I haven’t updated my iPad app since I installed it a few months ago.... and I don’t dare to really. I hadn’t actually considered using the desktop site on the iPad. I guess there’s no reason not to is there. There are many things I don’t like about the app but I just have been “living with them”.
The app updated automatically on my phone but I haven't allowed it on my tablet. The only problem with the desktop version is that it doesn't fit a device screen very well. You need to expand it and scroll back and forth. Other than that, it's infinitely preferable, even more so since this last update (which I still hate).
