• Two kids (I think brother and sister) get mission from their supposed uncle
• Journal style letters in book (the whole book might be a memoir style, I don’t remember)
• Fight monsters - some look kind of dinosaur like I think
• Photos throughout book of scenes and monsters in a grungy/dirty style
• Silly and potty humor
• Uncle is actually an evil monster who trapped the kids’ dad in a cage in a room with lava I think
• Written between 2003-2009 I believe
