How about Romantic Outlaws: The Extraordinary Lives of Mary Wollstonecraft and Her Daughter Mary Shelley. Not strictly a classic, but these two are "classics", so maybe? Better not lead, didn't go so well last month!

Better not ..."Hi Gisela, sorry for my late answer. I will not take it up in the nominations as strictly taken indeed this is not a classic but a book about classics / classics writers. Would you want to nominate another book instead? I would like to set up the poll by the end of the day, so I hope you'll see this in time. Apologies again for the late reaction!

3. Books can be of any length, but if a book wins and is over 600 pages, we will read it over a two month period.
