Your thoughts on the Ebola outbreak? My dad says similar things are talked about in Revelations. Ebola is the modern-day Bubonic Plague, except more dangerous. The Black Death originated in Asia and spread to Europe through trade routes. Nowadays, things spread even faster due to traveling. Speaking of that, what are your thoughts on the America who got sick and is now the first person in America sick with Ebola?

No cure

message 6: by The Phantom (new)

The Phantom (zerosummations) | 1052 comments They're developing a cure as we speak. (Type.)
It's mainly in the developing world. It's not widespread enough to frighten me yet.

message 10: by The Phantom (new)

The Phantom (zerosummations) | 1052 comments That doesn't usually happen in real life, you know...

message 11: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer (gwenhyver42) The Bubonic Plague is something entirely different and can be treated, thanks to antibiotics and modern medicine.

The Ebola outbreak.... Apparently, they have not found a cure. Yet. I wouldn't panic, though.

Im talking about back then. They didn't have a cure back when it hit and killed thousands of people.

That was more due to lack of awareness of the virus than lack of a cure. Quarantines were not put in effect.

Just saying, you do not know for sure what will happen and this is a valid possibility.

message 16: by The Phantom (new)

The Phantom (zerosummations) | 1052 comments Of course. But I see no need for scaremongering. We are really rather well prepared.

Yep that's true and they're watching 100 people who he came in contact with. Also in Dallas, Texas, 5 kids have gotten infected. Now there is word a reporter I believe is coming back from Liberia to the US and is sick with Ebola. I don't know where he's landing though.

Hahaha there's a sick guy in NYC now. All everyone jokes about now is Ebola. If someone coughs, they "have Ebola". If someone is absent from school, they must "have Ebola".

message 30: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (fantasynerd365) My professor did that the other day. I sneeze REALLY loudly and I sneezed in class. He said he was surprised everyone didn't run out of class because of Ebola.
