the next morning Layla walked to the bus stop on the way to school. last night was hell to her. it seemed like she would never get any sleep hearing howling and growling all night.

"hi. im Layla." she smiled but was curious about her. shes seen her in her neighborhood before and knew there was something strange about her but she didnt show her suspision.

she smiled. "for now.. and im guessing that your a human as well?" she whispered.

"sounds like fun sometime." she looked down at her school schedule for this year as the bus pulled up to the school. "great. geometry." she groaned.

Layla put down the water bottle she was drinking. "not a bit." she laughed a little. "i should probably be asking you the same thing."

"oh so thats what all that howling and growling was last night. i heard a bunch of noise just down the street from where i live. some local wolves are gettin really teritorial lately. seems like some might even be on the move."

"my mom knows but my stepdad doesnt. hes not exactly excepting of "different" people."

"my stepdad doesnt like me much cuz of course i tend to sneak out of the house alot and he just thinks im joinging some kind of gang." she couldnt help smileing at the thought.

"so what about you how come your parents dont know?" she raised an ibrow.

"oh. are they another kind of species im guessing?"

Layla couldnt help laughing. "so where did you come into the mix?"

they were laughing together when the bell rang for the end of school. "oh finally." she said after the laughing fit.

Layla stood there for a moment wondering if she should follow Tasha in case she needed help but decided otherwise and walked down to the buildings that had the lockers.

(lol. just forget that.)

Layla opened her locker after the second try and crammed her stuff in there.

nora opened her locker and pulled out her notebook for biology.

she glanced over at the cute guy next to her and tucked her hair behind her ear.

she looked the other way and saw layla.
