When Jane is taken hostage, a reporter makes public her identity, putting her life at risk. Should she have refrained from disclosing that information? Should something have been done to her as a consequence? What COULD be feasibly done?

I thought she should have had some compassion and some ethics regarding this. She proved she was nothing more than a news whore doing whatever she needed to do in order to get the scoop. She would have been better off playing nice because in the future the right detective could have been an excellent source of information. I'm thinking about the relationship Eve Dallas has with Nadine in the JD Robb In Death series.

I thought it horrible. While there isn’t much the police can do about it, good luck to her in ever getting any cooperation from the BPD going forward. Her access is permanently gone.
