There is a lot to learn from the self-publishing success of author A.G. Riddle, my guest in the latest episode of the show. As he transitioned from being an internet startup entrepreneur, he read 50 books about writing. Once his debut novel, The Atlantis Gene, took off he hired Hugh Howey's editor for future work. His writing is clear, potent and full of insights into big questions like Why Are we Here?
I liked that he talked about the wrestle between what the readers want and what the art wants. For me that’s a life long struggle. I’ve not heard any other writers/artists talk about it.
