I love this one and I'm not sure why, except that it makes me want to be there.

Heather, will the comments show up under the paintings? Mine are all in a row at the bottom.

This one is beautiful! I could live with this painting...in the dining room to enhance digestion. :-)
I’m not sure what you mean if they show up under the painting... you mean your comments under that specific painting? The only way I know to connect the comment with the painting is to do as you have done, hit ‘reply’ and it tells in italics what painting you are talking about. But that’s what you are doing. Yeah, it’s kind of a pain to have to scroll back up to look at the painting of which you are speaking. You picked some nice ones, though!
I loved your approach on this. lt's fun to see how similar and yet how very different the same subjects can be.
PomegranatesJohn Singer Sargent
Oranges on a Branch
Winslow Homer
Thank you, Judi!
I liked them all, but especially the ones above that I listed and I see you agree!

This isn't one of my favorites as in his painting of the subject matter (though that is very well done, also) But I just want to take a fork and eat out the juicy, seedless middle of each watermelon! Yumm, it looks so good!
I am glad you posted Arcimboldo´s painting. He has heavily influenced me and I had forgotten his name.

I love the symmetry of this painting."
This looked more like a detail of a painting - but they are all lovely works.
You’re right, Carol. It does look like a part of a bigger picture but I like the detail of a close up of the lemons themselves. I think as part of a whole painting I wouldn’t notice the lemons as much.
I've always loved still lifes with food in them - well the masterpiece ones anyway!I was trying to find one featuring avocados, but so far haven't found one I would like to share.

Carol, here is the link I used to get the paintings I posted above. There are many more still-life paintings with fruits and vegetables.

Hope this helps!

But as I posted these, and I saw many more, I tried to show work by various artists (not just Cezanne!) And I think it is interesting how drastically different the views, texture, placing, etc. each individual artist paints his or her fruit!
This subject actually interested me!
