An abandoned gas station. Let's hope there's some gas left, yeah?

Lena pulled up at the gas station in her dusty white car. Her heart thumped wildly in her chest as she stepped hurriedly out of the car. Her eyes darted around, looking for any signs of life-or rather, no life. Lena calmed down a little when she saw no one, yet she was still on her guard. Glancing at the small store behind the fuel tanks, she saw no one inside at all. That didn't bother her; most shops were closed or abandoned anyway, and besides, now she didn't have to pay.
There was only one fuel tank left on-the next one across from her car-so she pulled the dispenser over to fuel door and began filling it with gasoline. The price on the fuel tank rose higher and higher, all the way up to sixty dollars and fourteen cents. Lena chucked the dispenser on the ground and was about to jump back into her car when she had an urge to return the dispenser. It was only when she was walking back to her car did she realize why; she wanted to keep things neat, ordinary and calm like they were when all hell hadn't yet broken loose.

Jace stuffed packages of cake and fruit into his hunting bag. He looked around, the caught sight of a car outside. He dove for cover, and accidentally knocked over a stand of marshmallows. There was a soft crash, and Jace winced.
((omg thank you for replying))
Lena looked up at the sound, her heart speeding up once more. She reached for her revolver that was sitting in the middle console while searching for who-or what-ever made the sound. She slowly stepped out of the car, knowing this could be the worst decision of her life. She spotted a stand lying on its side surrounding by white and pink marshmellows. Lena hadn't had marshmellows in ages, but she ignored that thought and slowly approached the stand.
"Who's there?" she asked. "I-It better not be a zombie, cause if it is, you can bet I'll be getting my ass outta here faster than you can groan."

((No prob :P))Jace flicked his eyes over to the sound and chuckled. Losing all sense for caution, he launched into a full-blast laugh. It's just a girl! He thought to himself. "Don't worry, I'm a human!" He shouted at the girl.
Lena sighed with relief and let her arm fall back beside her. It was only a boy. Then she too started to giggle, both with relief and with the boy. When she finally controlled herself, she called out, "You can come out then."
Jace peeked from behind the corner and smiled. "It's good to see a woman's face today. I don't believe we met." He then ripped open a Twinkies and bit into it. Jace's face contorted in disgust and he spit the Twinkie back into its package. "Ugh, this is stale."
Lena snorted with laughter as he spat out the bar. "Definitely not," she agreed. She tucked her revolver between her jeans and leather belt. "What's your name?" she asked.
"My name?" Jace raised an eyebrow. "I'm Jace. Jace Winston. You?" He stood up and leaned against an old refrigerator.
"Um, I'm Lena," said Lena. She quickly glanced behind her at the ruined city that surrounded them. Buildings and stores were crumbling. Cars had been left smashed or broken down. Plants and trees suffocated the ground, roads and skyscrapers. What was once a perfect community was now completely destroyed.
She looked back at Jace and bit her lip. "S-So...how long have you been-"
Suddenly she caught movement out of the corner of her eye, before she had the chance to say running. "Get down!" she whispered, looking back at what had made the movement. There were two men, staggering around, only two stores down. There clothes were tattered and bloody, their skin pale grey and peeling. Half of one's hair was falling out. There was no mistaking them. They were zombies.

Jace glanced for a mere second over his shoulder, seeing rotten skin and hurling behind an aisle. "Perfect, just what I needed, a duet." He reached in his weapon bag and searched frantically for his tools. "Not what any of us wanted, eh?"
Lena managed a nervous laugh, peeking out to see the undead. "You can say that again," she replied. Then she swore under her breath, and with shaking hands, hastily loaded three more bullets into her revolver's barrell. She cocked the hammer, and slumped back against the wall. Her heart was beating so fast she could feel it without placing a hand on her chest.
