Death in Venice
question
Does anything good ever happen in Venice?

Is it only me, or is it true that if a novel is set in Venice, then bad things will predominate? Granted, I haven't read that many, but corruption of some sort seems to be what you get. Death in Venice. The Aspern Papers. Wings of the Dove. Don't look now. The Comfort of Strangers. And so on... Can anyone suggest a really good novel where Venice is the city of restoration, healing, love, reconciliation, anything like that?
