Hey everyone!

Welcome to Libros & Cafecitos.

I am Stephanie. It is a pleasure to meet you!

Here is some background on myself.

I was born and raised in Miami to two Cuban parents. Growing up, I never realized how diverse and different this place was. I'll be honest, I wanted to run away as fast as I could from all the traffic, the never-ending construction (yes, you infamous Dolphin and Palmetto expressways), and awkward moments trying to decide if I should order my ham in Spanish or English to the deli-lady at Publix.
That all changed after I left Miami for one summer internship while I was in the university. Sure, I had less traffic and knew confidently that speaking English would be my best choice of communication but, where were all the different styles of food? the ocean? the humidity? and shocking of all, where were the cafecitos?
It was then that I knew what I had back home was a gift. I knew I had to come back. And since then: I sit in 1.5 hours traffic to get to my job, take weekend trips to watch the sunrise and sunset on the same day, and start my every morning with a cafecito, tostada and a good book.
