The book that I read over the summer was Refugee by Alan Gratz. What I loved most about the book was that the author ( Alan Gratz ) took three different people from three different times in history and let them have the same goal. To go to America to escape the Nazis ( Josef ) 1939, Cuba ( Isabel ) 1994, and the bombing in Syria (Mahmoud) 2015. It was so interesting to watch all of the stories intersect and from all different point of views from all of the characters about their culture, living, and their thoughts. I wanted to read this book because it was about historical fiction ( which I love ) and I wanted to see how another author presented common issues that were in the past as well as in the present. I would recommend this to someone who enjoys learning about the world and some of the problems with it, along with knowing the different perspectives going with these problems.Refugee
