Did you like The Bean Trees? I recently bought it at Goodwill. I thought I might like it since I’ve lived in both KY and AZ. I have a collection of Barbara Kingsolver books and I’ve never read anything by her... yet! I’m just assuming that I will like her writing. That’s the shortest one so I may start with it!
Pam and Alaina — I love almost anything by Barbara Kingsolver. I think Bean Trees is a good place to start. Hope you enjoy!
Oooooh, for Kingsolver, I LOVED Poisonwood Bible, so amazing. I have all of her other books , but haven't read them yet, just noticed today she has a new release coming out :-)Alaina, I loved Hiroshima for non-fiction, also Miss Peregrines was a fun read. Uprooted was one of my favorites last year. Nice plan so far, good luck to you!
Pam and Lizzy- I ended up giving The Bean Trees three stars. I liked it but it wasn't my favorite. I still recommend checking it out as it was an enjoyable read. Now The Poisonwood Bible I absolutely adored and highly recommend it to anybody. In fact I want to do a reread sometime soon. I read it for school several years ago and would have to say it's my favorite book that I've ever been assigned.Tracy- I thought Hiroshima was so interesting and want to read more on WWII after reading it. I liked Miss Peregrine's but I'm still debating whether I want to continue the series or not. Sadly I wasn't a huge fan of Uprooted. The writing was beautiful and I really enjoyed it at first, but as I kept reading I just wasn't into it. Her new book Spinning Silver does sound interesting though, and I'm wondering if I should pick it up at some point.
