It is revealed that the King was under the control of a Valg Prince and that Duke Perrington is possessed by Erawan (whom Gavin and Elena did not kill after all). Thoughts on this twist and the fact that the Duke is the real villain.

None of these revelations surprised me, but the fact that the Duke is possessed by Erawan sure does bring up some questions and adds a nice little twist for the next book.

I was kind of annoyed that the King's evil actions were sort of excused by his being possessed. It seemed a cop out - why can't evil just be evil?

The Erawen twist was really good though and puts a new spin on things.
