BOOK-BUDDY/CHAT GROUP
YOu get on the member list and see who is out there. Also folks who have been posting as well. Just get on their profile and email them and ask. Just like a Pen-Pal thing.
Folks, this is really easy to do,,,Now that a few have said that they are looking for a Book-Buddy, then get together with the person who is also looking like you. There is what, 5 folks already looking, so you get with a person and discuss books and see if your a match...Its like SPEED DATING....
Who will be the first Book-Buddy here? I have alot of folks who say that are interested, but none has come forward....
Remember folks, this is what the census here said they wanted.

I would like a book buddy, I usually read murder mysteries but have myself interested in other books lately. I have no book in mind, so if you are interested please message me. I'm a teacher so my time is limited during the day!!Happy reading to all of you!!!
This could be interesting. I am in the Midwest and work days. Currently reading Heartsick . Mainly a mystery and thriller reader. Let me know if your interested in finding and reading something with me
sorry to not follow the protocol set by the OP, but I'm new here so maybe I will be forgiven. but what exactly is a book buddy? I know this thread is for posting who your BB is, but maybe can we start a thread and list we are looking for a BB and what we are reading next (OMG I just had a huge spider crawling up my leg almost into my shorts). sorry about that. anyways just a thought. maybe the gal with the donkey... err bronco icon ;) can help... and BTW go bolts... ) p
Chris, this is the thread that is looking for BB, so all the folks that you see here Chris that states that they are looking for someone, these are the ones you hook up with, All you do is message a person that YOU seem fit with, and both of you go back and forth to see if your compatible. Just like dating...Do you date? not to be nosey, but thats all it is, is a book buddy to read along and get along with what you read...
and quite talking about my Broncos..sooner or later they are going to loose because they are slacking too much for me...

Jennifer and Renee are Book Buddies! We are currently reading Defending Jacob by William Landay. We are having a great time reading this.
So Ms. Book Buddies, are you all going to do a thread on what you have read, or just between you two?
So far we have been messaging each other multiple times a day. We are in the process of planning our next book we would like to read together. This was a great idea and I'm so glad I chose to do this, I normally wouldn't have but something told me to go ahead...it's allowed me to meet a highly intelligent person and we are having fun talking about all kinds of topics!
Here, on this site. You can make the thread yourself, or you can do it here on this Book-Buddy Thread. its your choice...See how easy it is?

Jennifer and I finished Defending Jacob today! It's a great read! It was great to have someone to bounce ideas off, and double check understanding. WE ROCK! We both noticed how important the epigrams were in this book. I usually over look them, but, not this time.
So now we are searching for another Superb read. We will keep you posted.
I have to agree with Renee, I would've missed a lot of the underlying ideas had it not been for her and we were able to learn a lot about each other from this experience. This was an awesome idea and I'm very lucky to have gotten Renee as my partner. Defending Jacob is a very good book and I'd suggest it to anyone!!
I ordered Defending Jacob from reading the blurb about it. What a change of events! I'm glad that I took the chance with that. Marti

I hope that you will consider our October BOTM IN THE LAKE OF THE WOODS by Tim O'Brien for your next "superb read" as I think that it will grab both of you! It is a good book to read w/ a partner since there are so many hypotheticals and what if's and maybes. Could learn a lot from each other on this one.
Oh ok, I was going to say that I was sure Renee wouldn't mind you joining us. We haven't decided on our next book.
We can always make room for another, so come on & join us. We're reading the BOTM, In the Lake of the Woods.

"The Devil of Nanking"I just finished reading our Book Buddies pick that Stephanie & I were reading. First sorry to Stephanie I was little slow on this due to my work schedule & Stephanie finished before I did because she said she could not put it down & I have to say she was right. It was one of those books where you kept wanting to get to the next thing that was going to happen so you could see if it was good or bad.... I did not know about the Nanking massacres but did alittle reading to learn more about that time & there really is not alot written about it except glossing over the horror & massive death toll that no one can give a accurate accounting of the numbers that were killed or tortured by soldiers.
At first I did not like that we did not get alot of back story on Grey & I would have liked to know just alittle more about her but as I read more realized anymore detail about Grey & it would have minimized the story of what she was trying to uncover about the horrors of Nanking as it related to her own tragedy.
I had been wanting to read this book for awhile & Stephanie made a great choice for our 1st read as book buddies.
Stephanie wrote: "So Ms. Book Buddies, are you all going to do a thread on what you have read, or just between you two?"Should we start a thread? Sorry I posted my thoughts here but will start a thread if that what works best. I posted then read when I should have read then posted.
That's what I did. Saw a post from someone who looked interesting, sent her a message and we've read 2 books together!
