Olivia Eckstein Was anyone else really disappointed in the ending of this book? I just finished it about ten minutes ago and I am still trying to figure out if I'm missing something? I feel like it completely just ended in the most abrupt way possible. There are still so many questions to be answered. I feel like the ending was rushed and the author just wanted to get it over with. Like in the span of about twenty pages her uncle arrives, and she talks about her new ministries and then it ends? I loved the book up until that ending! Does anyone else feel like they were left confused by the choice in ending? Hopefully Cashore writes another book!!

Ilana it's been a while since i read it, but i do remember that there was a little bit of an abrupt ending, so i think that i'm on the same page as you. i feel like the series was a bit drawn out in the sense that it took ages for the books to come out and then while the plot lines were so different yet very intertwined, there was a bit of a rushed ending to it all.

i can't recall what i've read but i feel like there are no plans for another one, but i could be wrong.

Lilac Yeah, I think these books were supposed to be a trilogy, even though they don't really fit together. Cashore is writing a new book but it's not related to this series...

It's been a while since I read it, but I feel like she left the ending of Bitterblue with a happy, smooth ending for Bitterblue to appease the reader and a few open questions just in case she feels like writing another book.

Sarah I felt it was a little disappointing at the end too. Like I was really waiting for Saf and Bitterblue to be a thing but it never happened and instead Saf goes out to explore with Fire.... I like the whole thing of how his Grace would help Fire but... Yeah.. Anyway I agree with that the ending was a little disapointing :/

kayla tulop the whole books sucked. It was so hard to finish.

Angela I loved, absolutely LOVED the first two books of the series, and thought that they had a very interesting connection. But "Bitterblue" was just.... i don't know, not as good as the other two - it took me a while to read and although the details about Leck were as fascinating as they were horrible, i don't think it was a very good ending for the series

I agree. I expected a lot after I read the first two and love them. I just think that there are quite a few loose ends.

Kellie All three books in the series were, in my opinion, very loosely related, so when i started reading Bitterblue I wasn't really expecting it to tie up loose ends from Fire or Graceling. I think the story was well written, and even though the "love" aspect of the story never reached its full potential, I was still satisfied. I think there was a lot of character development, and we learned quite a bit about the characters who were only mentioned and never fully developed in the previous novels. However, with that being said, I still think there is room for another installment in the series.
