She woke up on an island when she was 3 and didn't have any memories. Then she sat up and looked around. She was at the beach. She saw the blue wet thing and heard it. She liked it. Two days later, a boy who was coming to pick upsome fish found her. She was happy to have conpany. He told her he had woken here too, five moons befire before finding her. He noticedshe had a broken ankle, so he took her to his cave and treated her ankle. He was 7 years old. He fed her and cheered her up and then taught her about the sea. "Sea.. I like the sea!" She would say. They instantly became friends. He pulled out a paper from his pocket which said his name and he confirmed that was how he knew he was called James. He too had lost his memories. She didnt have any pockets, just a ripped white dress on. But james noticed she had a golden necklace. It said chouko papurureino. He showed it to her and said : "chouko. I guess thats you!" They lived on the island and protacted each other from the dangers of the island until he was 18 and she 14. One day she was alone picking fruit because james had fallen from a tree and had an injure. Not really serious but she told him he had to rest. So she picked a coconut and put it in her pile. There was a noise. The whole tree wad going to fall over her. She was paralized. But at that moment, an unclear memory ran tgrough her mind. She smiled and the tree stopped. It was being held by some branches. She was confused. Her memory was cpming back slowly. But the only thing she managed to remember was a beautiful and tall women along with herself, cobtrolling water and leaves through the air as if drawing with them. She thought she was hallucinating. So she lied down in the exact same place where she had woken up eleven yeats before and rested. She soon sat up. She had felt something on her back. She dag it up and figured out it was a camera. She was again confused. Was it possible that it had come with her to the island and stayed there eleven years? She rlturned it on and something started to play. It was the same woman. She was telling chouko that shed be log dead when she saw that but that she had something to tell her.
" you are a mage, chouko. You have thepower to control nature. This magic can adapt to any environment because as long as it has something which isnt man made you can control it and defent yourself from dangers. From trees to water, air to earth, use your power well..." _BEEEEP_ then it turned off. Chouko didn't understand. Was that why the tree had stopped? She decided to go back and tell james. On her way the trees started to move, tge sky went grey, the wind blew faster and a storm started. It was so furious that it started to destroy everything. Chouko grabbed one of the secular trees so that she wasnt blown away and in desperation she yelled : "PLEASE STOP!" the wind stopped blowing and every thing was still. She ran over to james. Their cottsge ws destroyed and james was missing. Sje looked for him for teo weeks and then she used het powers to make a boat. She sailrd away until she found land.

No they do not get powers, the whole point is for them to be small and defenseless and have to use the human's scattered items to adapt and survive.
