I am ‘reading’ Nick Lane, “The Vital Question” Energy, Evolution and the Origins of Complex Life.
It is complex! It feeds my depression. If I grasp one section it only takes me to deeper complexity. If you watch this video I think you will have a glimpse of this cutting edge of bioenergetics.
Failure, real or imagined has dogged me since trying to learn languages at secondary school (I still can’t) and crystallography in my Edinburgh Uni geology course (that would be easy now).
I’m 73 but I think I’m no more stupid than I ever was. I am slower and aware that time is running out. I’m not going to give up.
