Prologue (view spoiler)[ That was a fantastic start. Wow. I really enjoyed the insight into Wax’s childhood.

I do find it a bit mad that they’d let that lunatic kid burn things and attack people rather than stop him. I know the Terris are a quiet, humble people but blatantly ignoring crimes like those is not okay, then blaming Wax for stopping them is just ridiculous. He was right to leave. It’s a shame they didn’t value him more, he could have been a great force of good for the Terris people. (hide spoiler)]

I hope it arrives soon for you Jess, I'm really liking this one so far. Not as much as I did the last book yet but hopefully it'll be just as good.

I'm still reading! As usual I'm reading multiple things at once so I'm just taking it slow :).

What did you think of the prologue?

Chapter 9 complete (view spoiler)[ That was exciting! I have no idea what was going on but I love a good allomancer battle. I want to know who the guy with the cane is, what the little cubes that wipe out metal reserves are and what it's got to do with the big picture. Exciting things to come I hope! (hide spoiler)]

Up to chapter 12 (view spoiler)[ The poor innkeeper is going to have a heart attack. Wax and his entourage aren't exactly inconspicuous but I think Steris' list threw her over the edge.

I'm starting to really like Steris. There's a lot more to her than I initially thought in book 1. She's super smart and resourceful and actual quite endearing, much to my surprise. I'm kind of rooting for her.

MeLaan is just excellent, so different to TenSoon in every way and not at all what I would expect. I love that she carries a load of human remains in her luggage.

Wayne is, as usual, hilarious and a little disturbing. His thieving habit is a little out of control. He's going to get into trouble one day. (hide spoiler)]

Imve been stuck in ch1 sice ive been in hospital. Plus my evook just got returned today so i dont know when ill get back to this, may be a few wks

Interested to see why this VenDell wants. I always think this kind of character has his own agenda...after all the good-turned bad people we’ve met during Mistborn.

(view spoiler)[I found it strange that Wayne would want to sabotage Wax with his wedding being ruined. But I am feeling like Steris and Wax should marry, but only if they fall in love. And I know Marasi is a problem. I dont know how its goin to end!! (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[ I wasnt overwhelming happy with this book. It was enjoyable in moments. Wayne’s humor wasnt as funny as the ladt book. NEVER not kill the bad guys!!!! Thats such a poor choice Wax and Wayne made with the Ladrians.

Still a fun ride. Just not 5 star material. I will of course be reading The Lost Metal whenever it drops! (hide spoiler)]

I'm still reading, in a bit of a slump at the moment but I'll read your spoilers when I catch up :)

Up to chapter 14 (view spoiler)[ Wayne really is a talent! I'm starting to seriously appreciate how he manipulates people. A lot of it is in he accents and costumes of course but his acting is just brilliant. He really has me believing he's all these different characters. It's great writing.

Poor Steris. She doesn't have any idea just how good she is. She constantly devalues herself and it's such a shame. I didn't really like her in book 1 but she's definitely grown on me.

I want to know what is going on with these coins and what the big plot is! (hide spoiler)]

I was really surprised by Wayne’s manipulation of Wax’ wedding. But other than that, I think Wayne is flawless!!!

I never thought I'd like Steris but she really is growing on me! I'm rooting for her now.

I was surprised by that too, I was a little disappointment in Wayne. He's still excellent, but that did lower my opinion of hi a little. I think he's just scared of losing Wax.

I fell off this train but plan to get to Bands before too long. I was slow in reading Shadows so once I got done there I went back to Mark Lawrence. Once I am done with Holy Sister I plan on listening to Bands.

If I had lined it up as a print read, it would have been much much worse ;)

I'm very late, but I'm reading this book with great expectations. I finished Ch24 and it's awsome! I loved all these characters and the way they are grown in throughout story.
Sometimes I am confused by Wayne's behavior, (view spoiler)[see his habit to make exchanges or his sabotage of the Wax's Wedding (hide spoiler)], but I love the different misteries and plot I found.

One thing surprised me: in the chapter 17, when the team is on the coach and Marasi is studying the cube, at some point Steris speaks about it as "a kind of eldritch device". Why 'eldritch device'?
It's a reference about another series in the Cosmere?

I agree, Jess! The way Sanderson describes Wayne is strange, sometimes smart, other selfish or brilliant, when he pretends to be someone else. The dialogues between he and Wax are so funny, for example in the chapter 17, when (view spoiler)[they argue about the right method to sneak into the Set's building. (hide spoiler)]

@Andrew I think eldritch means something magic/ otherworldly. I'm not sure I'd it has any specific significance in the Cosmere though.

Chapter 21

(view spoiler)[ This is fantastic! The Lord Ruler somehow survived/ came back to life after Vin killed him and he went to rule another land across the water. Any connection to the original trilogy is great but this series has always treat it like it was ancient history, which it kind of was. Now it's relevant again and I'm super excited to see how it all fits into place! (hide spoiler)]

This a wonderful a turning point in the story and bring in many possibilities and questions. (view spoiler)[I've some doubts about the fate of Lord Ruler. It was him or some kandra with his bones? I guess Id be told or always thought this was a self contained trilogy so it was both surprising and amazing to find the #4 is being written!

I always thought it was a trilogy, till now, when I finished the book and I found a postscript, dated 2016, about the fourth book "The Lost Metal". Unfortunately the page of this book here, report a worrying note:

It was estimated to be released in Fall 2019, although due to the Skyward series, it is more likely to be released sometime in 2020 or 2021.

We need to wait. :(

Which is weird, because Sanderson is usually pretty consistant. But, when ideas strike, you gotta go with them...

I havent read Skyward and probably won’t for awhile.

I kind of wish it was a trilogy on one hand, to wrap up the story. But then again, more Mistborn is always a win.

Maybe the third book were so full of contents He has divided it in two parts. Better for us, even if we have to await a little!
