It would seem that a lot of us have been making our own templates, some for the first time. If you get stuck on something, and would like ideas, you can come here.

Okay Fiend, I think I played with the template a little, Is personality set up okay? Or should it be bolded or something?

I got a little random just now and put together some little helpful tips and stuff for template construction :) And it turned out really long, haha. Sorry 'bout that.

▸ So you know how you can use <.blockquote> (without the period, of course) to move over your text and images? You can also move things by taking the little code for scaling images (<.img width="(size width you want goes here)" height="(size height you want goes here)" src=""/>) and put in a white image to make the text/image move over as much or as little as you want. Just put this image in and then adjust the width for how much you want it to move over :)

▸ Also, you can make pictures link to different things like you would with text.

▸ ie. <.a href=" http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m6y... ">this (without period and spaces between these ----> "" ) becomes this, you can also just take an image and make it link to something else. Just combine the two codes ^_^

▸ So this: <.a href=" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wq7ft... "><.img src=" http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_max... "> (without period and spaces between these ----> "" ) becomes this:

▸ Click on the picture to see what I mean ;) So you can now add a lot more things to your template without taking up a lot of space :)

▸ Alright, so no one has to follow this advice, but this is just a little tidbit that I've gathered from talking to various people on the quality/quantity of information in a template. Keep in mind that at the end of the day, all your doing is making a character. It doesn't have to be spectacular or amazing. It's your character and if you don't want it to be decked out, then don't make it that way. Don't worry about what other people are doing because you'll always be trying to one-up someone else. Just stick to your guns and don't worry about what someone else might think. Alternatively, don't judge others for their template. That's just rude :P

▸ Try not to put in unnecessary information. Do we really need to know the origin of your character's name? Do we have to know their favorite color? Do we have to know what day they first went to school or what their religion is, or can we figure all that out for ourselves through the RP. That's one of the reasons I don't even like doing personality in templates anymore. If you can find that out on your own through writing, why does it need to be explained? If it's not in the pre-determined template set by the mods, then it's probably best to leave it out of the character's bio.

▸ Character making is supposed to be fun; however, sometimes it just isn't. If you're fed up with the HTML and the designing and the gif making, then just don't do it. At the end of the day, none of that stuff does anything to advance the character. It's the same with a basic template. Hell, I've known some people to like basic bios more than decked out ones, and it makes sense -- if you have so much junk in there that you can't find the main attributes (personality, history, etc.), then what's the point? Bigger isn't always better.

If you read all this stuff, kudos to you :) It took me a long long time to write up and I'll probably end up adding things as I go along, but I hope it was at least a little bit helpful to at least a few people. If you need help with any of this stuff or are confused, just ask me here so that everyone can see it and I'll try to help out. or just questions on this stuff in general :) I love formatting, so I'm all ears to anything you have to ask.

It's much easier in my opinion because you can organize everything yourself. Of course there are many other storage sites [ i.e: photobucket or pinterest ]

▸ http://www.fotor.com/ - basic photo editing although you have t have a membership to access some special features
▸ http://www.befunky.com/ - this was the first online image editor i've tried out and i still use it again, you need a membership to access some features although there ar emore tihngs you can do on this site than fotor

There are also image editors that I've downloaded [ for free ] on my old laptop but they are more complex - if you feel you're an advanced editor or would like to take a go at it the program is called: GIMP
