Joyce O’Donnell was murdered. Did you see that coming? Was there a part of you that felt some relief about her death?

I am not surprised she was murdered because her eagerness to rub elbows with the most evil of serial killers just opened her life up to a greater possibility of it. I didn't think it would happen so soon, to tell the truth. I thought she'd be a thorn in Jane and Maura's sides much longer than it turned out. I am not relieved but rather annoyed by her death. I really thought she'd be around longer to go toe to toe with Jane in future books.

I did not see that coming so early. She was flirting with danger by cozying up to these psychos but I thought she’d go out in a blaze.

Exactly, Jonetta. I kind of thought she might be abducted by a patient later on and Jane would have to try and rescue her.
