The Host (A Roleplay) discussion

This is the river in which Kyle tried to kill Wanda/Melanie. Once you go in you're not coming back out so be careful around here.

Ash walked along the side of the river, looking down at the rushing water. He had just finished his work in the gardens, so he had some free time.

Scarlett sighed. She had a free schedule from Alice taking punishment in laundry and kitchen. It was a relief to her but she still had nothing to do.

Ash continued walking. He then heard footsteps, and whirled around to see who it was. Except, being his clumsy self, he wobbled on the edge, almost falling into the chaotic water. He toppled for a second, trying to regain his balance. Finally, he did, and he sighed in relief."That was close."He muttered, glad he didn't fall into that thing.

Scarlett bit her lip and her green eyes widened. She was about to lung at him to help him. It was stupid to be down here she thought but she just wanted to explore.

He looked ahead of him, to see a girl with very beautiful hair watching him."Oh, erm, you..saw that?"He asked, embarrassed at his klutzyness.

Scarlett nodded. She hated her hair sometimes. It was a give away even in the dark but that's what she got for being Irish.

"Oh."Ash laughed softly."I'm really clumsy, if you don't already know that."

Scarlett smiled and bit her lip. "Yea it's not the safest down here either." She could tell he was tall he would tower over her five foot seven inches.

"Yeah, it's stupid of me to be down here. I was this close to being..."He laughed quietly at his stupidity."Um, I'm Ash."He took a few more steps closer to the girl, and he could make out her red hair, and the outline of her face. He could also tell that he towered over her by a good six inches, maybe."Nice to meet you."He smiled lightly at her.

Scarlett fiddled with the flat metal dog tags with her brothers name. "Scarlett." Her parents named her Scarlett because of the red hair she was born with but her brother always called her Red.

Ash stuck out his hand for Scarlett to shake."Great to meet you."He said.

Scarlett bit her lip. She felt awkward but shook his hand. She was very unsociable and usually did her work then went to her room and read.

The silence soon turned awkward, and Ash finally asked,"So how long have you been here?"

"A few days maybe a week." Scarlett shrugged. "I don't really remember. And you?"

"About two weeks."Ash answered."I think."

Scarlett twirled her finger In her long red curls. She had to say before the souls she loved her hair but now no one dyes hair so it's an odd color.

"Did you come here with anybody? A brother..sister..or?"Ash asked curiously, trying to carry the conversation on. Scarlett didn't seem like much of a talker.

"No all my family is dead." She looked at the chains the hung around her neck. One was her parents' wedding ring, another her brother's dog tags, and the last her grandmother's pendent.

"Oh. I'm..i'm sorry."Ash said. Almost everybody here had lost family members. It was very sad.

"It's ok. I collect something of theirs and wear it all the time." Scarlett blushed. She never really told people that it made her sound weird.

"That's cool."Ash said, looking at the chains around her neck, with things hanging on them."I wish I had something that belonged to my other family members."

"I like collecting things." Scarlett smiled. She loves finding weird things and keeping them.

"are those dog tags?"He asked, curious, looking at them.

"Yea my brothers. He was in the army before everything went hectic." Scarlett smiled rubbing her thumb over his name.

"Ah, I see."Ash nodded. Scarlett was different, and Ash kind of liked that.

"Five years he served." Scarlet smiled. She adored her brother and always carried a photo of them with her.

"That's wonderful. I wanted to join the army once I graduated." He said."But, of course, now i can't. Since...ya know."

"Yea. I'm seventeen by the way." Scarlett didn't like talking about the dreams should couldn't have anymore.

"Eighteen."

Scarlett smiled. She thought he was older but she was short. She was glad to be short thought it helped her in small spaces.

"Do you think..do you think, if someone got captured by Seekers..that they had a chance of escaping?"Ash suddenly asked out of nowhere

Scarlett bit her lip. "Yea I think so only if they're strong enough. I've seen it." She seen rough souls escape from society

Ash didn't reply. His sister was strong. He knew it. But it was probably a slim chance she actually escaped. The Seekers probably immediately took her to wherever and put a soul into her.

"Ya know they could still be there inside." Scarlett had a chance to talk to Wildfire about souls.

Ash's eyes widened. How could that be...possible?"Really?"He said in surprise.

"Yea of the are strong and stubborn enough. There's a soul here with the human still in her." Scarlett smiled and bit her lip. "Who was it?" Her voice soft she didn't want to upset him.

"Strong and stubborn.."Stubborn definitely summed up Ash's sister."Oh, um, my sister. We were close to being caught, and i told her to follow me. I thought she was following me, but when i turned back, she wasn't."

"I'm sorry about that." Scarlett twirled her hair again. She really had no word but she was amazingly smart.

"It's okay."He shrugged.

Scarlett looked at her shoes. They was her roller blade sneakers. She couldn't think of anything to say. Why must I be unsociable.

"You don't talk much, do you."Ash smiled.

"No I'm the most unsociable person ever." Scarlett looked at her sneakers and twirled her hair.

"I like talking, but I usually don't know what to say."

"I usually read." Scarlett smiled. "And explore place finding weird things."

"What kind of books do you read?"

"Anything I can get my hands on but my favorite is fiction." Scarlett smiled. She had always liked reading.

"yeah, fiction is great. Nonfiction is really boring."Ash grinned.
