Ch 13 (25%) - (view spoiler)[ I can't believe how violent this kid is, and I can't believe that these thugs take orders from him. How did that happen? I guess the most recent scene explains how he joined up with them, but in 3 years he turns into their leader?? I'm also a little shocked that he just left Lundist. He seemed to be the only person that cared that he survived his ordeal. Sad. (hide spoiler)]
Ch 25 (50%) - (view spoiler)[ This whole mission seems a bit strange to me because of all that modern terminology in the books. I get that he has been set up to fail by his father - it's just another way to try to get rid of him. But if this Red Castle has weapons of mass destruction, why haven't they used them to win the war against the other kingdoms? (hide spoiler)]
Ch 35 (75%) - (view spoiler)[ Geez! So they released the poison and somehow it set off a nuclear bomb or something similar, and it killed everyone? That is messed up! Is he going to wake up one day and just be overwhelmed by all the death he is responsible for? (hide spoiler)]
Ch 37 (79%) - (view spoiler)[ Oh snap! I gotta admit, I wondered why the king didn't just execute him to begin with, but by his own hand....that's low. (hide spoiler)]
Ch 41 (84%) - (view spoiler)[ Well, at least we know whose dark hand was "guiding" him this whole time. I wonder why Corion is telling him to kill the princess - what does she have to do with anything other than Jorg liking her?? (hide spoiler)]
Finished - Geez this was a violent book. I try not to read too many reviews before I start a book because they influence me too much, but I kind of wish I read a few for this one. If for no other reason than to prepare me. I think it is really well written, but Wow, it's dark and bloody. (view spoiler)[ The ending has me wondering a bit. I'm glad he got his revenge on Corion and his puppet, the Count. And I guess he just took over the kingdom and started running it? That's the part that confuses me. It's like he just decided to settle down for a bit. (hide spoiler)]
