Sylvia (sylviarodarte) Since it's nearing the Halloween season...perhaps we pick a creepy book?

I would agree with this suggestion. Whatever the group votes on, we will go with, but I do think that maybe a horror or a thriller book would be a good idea for the month of October.

message 5: by Sylvia (new)

Sylvia (sylviarodarte) Great suggestion...I'll take a peek and there's also "Jane Doe" by Victoria Helen Stone...more of a thriller but seems good.

It's a close one, but it still has to beat fiction. I have a few horror books to be read on my shelf and plenty of fiction as well, and I will include the first five nominations (which must be on your shelves) from the category that wins in a poll to be voted on starting on the 10th. I cannot wait!

message 22: by Manybooks (last edited Sep 09, 2018 06:55PM) (new)

Manybooks I am a wuss and therefore, if horror wins, the only way I would even consider joining in would be if we ended up reading very mildly scary middle grade horror stories (do not want nightmares).

message 23: by Ean (new)

Ean Serial by Jack Kilborn and Blake Crouch should be on your SCARY AS ALL HECK list. Disturbing.

message 32: by Ean (new)

Ean The Great God Pan by Arthur Machen was touted by Stephen King as the greatest horror in English. For full effect it must read in the dark. 😊

Gabi I just picked up The Picture of Dorian Gray at the bookstore and the lady I asked to help me find it got all excited! I think she liked that I wanted to read a classic, and you know, I don't think I know a lot of people who enjoy classics. Now I'm really looking forward to reading this one.
