Dont worry! How should we organize this? This is my first buddy read. Maybe discuss after every 3 chapters or so? Or at the end of the book? Let me know, what you think. I have to finish another book but I would be able to start friday/saturday

I finished the book and wrote my comments in form of a spoiler, make sure to only read them, when you have finished the book!!

At first I had real difficulties with the story telling of Jack, but after like 20 pages that wasnt an issue anymore, because I slowly understood (I had absolutely no knowledge about the story or the plot) that something was very wrong in Room. I think first I understood it when he talked about the tooth. From that moment on the story was very fascinating for me.
When Ma started to talk about the plan to let Jack escape, I dont really know how to judge this. On one hand it was their only chance for escape, on the other hand it was extremely dangerous. Old Nick could have just killed Jack. Jack had no knowledge whatsoever of the world or other people. What do you think?
From the moment that this plan worked, (I mean when he did escape) I was really doubtfull, that something like this would be realistic. It just sounded too good to be true.
The other half of the book (what was left of the book) wasnt really exciting, there was no real story line anymore. I think the author maybe wanted to show, that there is no happy ending after such an escape and under what stress the victims still are. It was overall ok for me, it was a nice read, I finished it fast. The perspective of a child was very interessting. But I did not love it. What were your thoughts?
