Hello all. This month's pick is Pet Sematary. King got the idea for this book because when Owen I believe was little King and his family lived near a busy highway. I love that you get King commentary at the beginnings of his books.

If you haven't finished the short story collections this summer, don't fret. The cool thing about collections is that you don't have to finish them in one sitting.

I'm terrible at reading during the summer while my kids are home, so I too am still trying to catch up. We can always roll over books to the next months. This is supposed to be fun, not work ;)

Now lets discuss the 1989 movie. That dang movie scared me half to death. Gage saying "no fair, no fair" while holding a scalpel was super creepy. What do you think about the new movie coming out 2019? Do you think they should revamp all of King's novels? From what I've seen of Carrie and The Dark Tower, I say no. I'll take cheesy over awful and lame any day.

I'm liking it so far, but I already loved the movie so I knew I would. You're so right! Baby Gauge is terrifying! Definitely don't think they should revamp all the movies. Although I do love the new IT, I'll always love the cheesy original way more. Speaking of, has anyone watched Castle Rock yet? I'm obsessed.

OMG I just finished episode four. I need to catch up. I was marathoning the episodes the other week and stayed up way too late, well....i shouldn't have started them at 10pm lol.

I haven't seen the new IT yet...(don't kill me) everyone keeps telling me to watch it. I'm waiting for next month. Part of my Ominous October. :D

Yes! I even got my boyfriend addicted to Castle Rock and he's never read a Stephen King book lol it's so good! You have to let us know how you like the new IT.

Okay. So. I ate, breathed, and slept this book for the past 9 days. I couldn't put it down! Officially the quickest I've ever read a King. I have so many things to say but I'm waiting til later in the month. Gah! You guys! So good! <3

Alice | 1 comments I really loved this book too! I find it so hard to pick a favourite King but this definitely makes my top 5!

Top 5! Nice!! I would say mean so far... are The Gunslinger series, The Shining, IT, Misery, and Desperation. Lets see if Pet Semetary kicks one of those books out :D

Kimberly | 35 comments I am also terrible at reading with my kids home during the summer lol... I am defiantly planning for that next year and giving myself smaller TBR's and expecting a whole lot less from myself as far as reading. I didn't know there was a new movie coming out for this!!! The old movie is one I used to watch all the time as a kid. So I am excited to start the book tomorrow and see the differences and similarities. I also bumped up the movie on netflix and will rewatch it. Finally getting this one started tomorrow and hope to finish it by the end of the month :). Will post my thoughts as I read.

I had to roll it over too. I'm realllllly enjoying it though! But I feel like i'm reading way to many books at once, and i'm kind of savoring it. Plus I don't want to have nightmares and I feel like this one will do that lol.
