"Christian Unity"

What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.
In I John 3:23 the believer is commanded to love other believers in Christ.
And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.
I believe that this is the unity that God desires.
Unity is founded on love.
The history of the church with brother putting brother to death in the name of Jesus shows the failure to love one another and to respect my brother and sister as they too are the Temple of the Holy Spirit.
All Christians may disagree on some topics that are not important doctrinal points related to salvation, but that should not lead to division and condemnation.

Unity is founded on love..."
My response: Hmmm... I believe that Christian "unity" is not the goal, but is the result of "spiritual maturity" .

Ephesians 4:13 - "Till we all come in the unity of the faith , and of the knowledge of the Son of God , unto a perfect man , unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ :"
There is a lot about spiritual maturity in this passage about "unity" .

* Is God interested in "unity" at any cost?
* Is "unity" even the goal?
* What is Christian "unity" founded upon?
