LIN KAHEI : TWENTY + GNM48 + TEAM N + RANK 11 + GEN 7 ACE +
MAIN VOCAL + LEAD DANCER + SONG YUQI + SECRET (view spoiler)
┗┛
As the ace of both Team N and Generation 7, there's a lot of pressure that Kahei carries, but she takes the challenge with not always ease but enthusiasm. She's also always had high rankings since debut; she's never been below rank 15, and she's so humble that she's asked fans before why they vote for her so much. Kahei's grateful, she truly is, and would never take that support for granted.
The problem is that she gets hate from Knetz, because she's supposedly using her father's death to get sympathy from the public and get ahead of her members. It's not true. Her father's death was heartbreaking, especially because it felt like she sacrificed him for her debut because he died a week after her official debut. He was her biggest supporter, and she could never go as far as using him for her advantage.
Kahei is the full package — she has a unique visual, is fluent in three languages, and she's skilled in the three areas of performance — and it was her deep voice that made her fit the criteria of "girl crush" for Team N. Otherwise, she could've debuted in Team 48 or Team G. Let's also not forget that she's friendly as hell, despite having strict scheduling and the fact that 48G doesn't promote on televised music shows. She has a wide circle of idol friends and a big social media following, so there should be no surprise that she's hugging a bunch of idols in award shows.

KANG
HEEJIN
IS
GNM48'S
LEGENDARY
GODDESS. After her debut in 2010 as part of GNM48's first generation, Team N's Kang Heejin has not once wavered or fallen in popularity, but rather continued to soar to new heights over the past eight years. To old fans, they feel that th-ey have grown up with GNM48's princess as she matured from an adorable fourteen-year-old to a beautiful woman, and to new fans, she's the face th-ey've seen on television and advertisements for years and brought them to the group. After creating a name for herself as the prettiest girl-next-door you've ever seen and the long-running center of Team G, Heejin announced her transfer to Team N in 2014. While some were concerned that she woul-dn't fare well with a more mature concept, the concept change brought in a new, broader demographic of fans. Girls want to be her, boyfriends wish th-ey were dating her, teammates wish they had her ranking. Anyone who kn-ows anything about GNM48, can see that Heejin has the whole world wra-pped around her finger.
There's nothing else a girl could ever want, right?

LEE DAEWON | RANK ONE | TEAM D CENTRE
TWENTY
|
GEN 4
|
MAIN VOCAL
CGD48'S GOLDEN BOY, Lee Daewon is the subject of a lot of adoration — but also a lot of hate. People hate him because he seems so perfect: he's ranked first overall, he's the centre, he can dance and sing very well. They think he can't possibly be all that great, that it's just editing and manipulation. But the truth is, he's just a hard worker. Compare his singing predebut with his singing when he debuted and with his singing now, and the improvement is marked. He's maintained a steady ranking over the years, never dropping below 12th, and it's not solely because of his face (but, in his defence, that's his parents' fault, not his) — his social media presence helps, as does his multiple appearances on 48 Station. Dae practices every day, and between that manages to fit in the occasional appearance on variety shows (which his fans look forward to immensely) and has released a solo E.P. produced entirely by himself and a handful of friends he roped into helping with the filming of the music video. He's friendly, he's kind, he's always willing to do fanservice. He's everything a fan could want in their bias.
He seems perfect, the ultimate success story.
But nothing is perfect.
You just have to know where the cracks are.
His E.P. had been in the works since he was a trainee (scraps of paper with lyrics scribbled on them, plans to make it if he didn't debut like he hoped — eventually these grew into an entire four-song set); he's had multiple occasions where he forgot to eat for multiple days and nobody noticed; he sacrificed most of his teenage life and a significant portion of his grades for this. There are numerous occasions in the last couple of years where he's struggled through a performance, coping only because he knows that he can rest afterwards, and subsequently slept the entirety of the next day out of sheer exhaustion. He's never been hospitalised simply because he refuses to do so and instead just pushes on and waits until he can sleep it off.
(And, less seriously, he's honestly pretty bad at rapping. He's not a complete loss, but you wouldn't make him rap unless there was nobody else available.)

NAME: LIZZIE SEO
Resident mom-friend and 1/2
AGE: TWENTY-THREE
of the Koreans in team 48.
RANK: TWENTY-SIX
Born into a wealthy family
TEAM: FORTY-EIGHT
and fluent in four languages.
GENERATION: ONE
SECRET: Dated a stylist for
ROLE: LEADER
almost three years. They broke up
POSITION: SUB-RAPPER
when the stylist proposed to her.
For as much as Lizzie complains that being an idol for almost ten years has become tiring, she doesn't plan on graduating anytime soon — and her own fans don't want her to. Since she debuted at 14, Lizzie has been the 'mom' of the 48 family, as have a majority of the generation one members. However, she's also the leader of Team 48, and it's evident when she's with them that she treats each member like her own child.
And why would she leave now, when the era of fandom memes is prospering beautifully, especially the ones of Lizzie and her photobombs? She has a small number of fansites — she's not bitter over the fact, actually — so at some point, she began to appear in fansite photos of her members. It's become a running joke, and Lizzie loves to look through social media and see posts about it.

A lot of people say that Jaejin is only where he is because of his visuals, and while that is mostly true, it's not completely true. Even when he initially started training, he was a competent singer for someone who had never received lessons, and he does work hard so that his singing and dancing is always up to speed. That's not to say that his dancing has actually improved that much, but according to his fans (a very credible source) it's the effort that counts. And does it really matter that much anyway? Jaejin does more than his fair share of bringing interest in CGD48 Team G, especially with his "unique" and "silly" personality on variety. Of course, people also think he's faking it, but, well, let the people think what they think?
The truth is, Kim Jaejin is kind of an idiot. A kind one. One who likes to be helpful and nice and do good things in the world, but an idiot nonetheless. There was a small controversy when Team G was performing in Indonesia and he yelled "MALAYSIA," but we all have our hiccups, and it's not like it was big enough to reach most of the Korean public, anyway. Really, Kim Jaejin is just like any other guy, just doing his best to live his life day by day, putting on his pants one leg at a time like everyone else.
“ DANIEL ” ⇢ SONG YOONOH & 17 & cgd48's team g ace, lead vocal & rank 9 & gen 9secret: despite attending an excellent high school, yoonoh's attendance rate is less than 10%, and he's on the verge of expulsion. less because of his dislike of school, and more because he's always so busy with idol stuff.
Song Yoonoh is the epitome of cute teenager aesthetic — and you would hope so, given that he's Team G's ace. He's popular because he's cute and sweet and innocent (in the public's eyes), and he sings really well.
But Yoonoh is many other things as well — things that the public don't see. He doesn't understand a lot of the things the older members talk about, especially memes. But most significantly, he may be cute and sweet and innocent, but he's also really goddamn annoying when he doesn't get his way. When he gets hate, or when he's struggling with a dance step, rather than working on it maturely, he sits down in a corner and huffs until someone drags him up to try again. He's whiny and unmotivated, and it really just goes to show how flawless his facade is.
─────────────── NAKANO TETSUYA
age : twenty-four
rank : twenty-one
group : cgd48
team : 48
position : leader, lead vocalist
generation : one
Tetsuya is used to getting next to no lines despite being a lead vocalist. He's well aware that the company don't like him that much, and they're only keeping him this long because he's a good leader and one of the most fluent in Japanese (it being his first language). He's only the leader because the other options were, in the company's eyes, not responsible enough and too likely to argue back where Tetsuya would just sit there and take it.
But what they didn't count on was Tetsuya teaching himself Mandarin to be able to talk to the Chinese members in a language they're more likely to understand and becoming fluent enough to participate in those singles (it's been an effort over the course of pretty much his entire career). Or him being so defensive of the boys — even Leo, who's "too damn tall" — when anyone tries to criticise them. And now, because he's doing such a good job of filling the leader role, they're less inclined to let him graduate — which is a shame, because Tetsuya was sort of looking forward to getting a different job where people actually listen to him. Or moving back to Japan.

Generation 1
GNM48 Team M
Vocal & Lead Dancer
After her debut in 2009, Lee Jangmi spent the next eight years as a low-ranked member of GNM48, not once placing above #30 in the general election. Some people might question why she didn't choose to retire, but the answer is simple: she loves performing. She doesn't need to be the star. She doesn't want to be the star. She just wants to be up there on the stage, singing and dancing, and that's why she became an idol in the first place.
But then her "miracle" happened: After featuring in a drama as the (extremely popular) lead actress' younger self, people suddenly became interested in this GNM48 Lee Jangmi who they'd never heard of before, putting her on the trending search list top 10 for the first time in her career. Her fancam from their latest single went viral among fans, with people commenting why have we not noticed her before, she always ranked low but she's never stopped working hard, her visuals are shining because she loves to be on stage, this is only the beginning for Lee Jangmi. And when the general election came, she placed #12, and life as Jangmi knew it ended.
She should be thankful. And she is — now, people actually know her name, and cheer for her, and she's even gotten some love calls for solo activities. But she's never done this for fame, and now she's lost the freedom that she used to have. She can't eat whatever she wants without seeing a comment of ew, look how fat she's gotten, and she can't go out in public completely freely anymore, and, well, it's a lot harder to hide her relationship with top star Park Chansung of CGD48 fame when people are now trying to track down both of them. Maybe it's because she got too used to the way that things used to be, but this case of career whiplash has left Jangmi reeling as she tries to adjust to her new life while also remembering who she is and why she does this.

hi my name is nayoungdeservesbetter and this is my ted talk
for those of you that are in the process of stanning the 48G or just gnm48, choi nayoung is a nineteen year old lead dancer and sub rapper that debuted in generation 8 of the group
she started off at a high ranking because of her unique visuals (coughs)
( LOOK AT HER CHUBBY CHEEKS I LOVE HER)
but she's dropped down to rank 41 !! she can't graduate she has so much potential !! so if you're reading this, pls consider voting for this gumdrop in the upcoming election
and ppl need to stop giving her backlash when she hasn't even done anything?? nayoung has gone through a lot upon debuting and ppl have the audacity to call her lazy and selfish
does nobody remember when she started crying in the middle of an interview because her mom called her? i wonder what happened when they turned off the cameras to let her finish the call
cONTINUING ON, nayoung is an amazing dancer but her skills don't get enough appreciation because the company hasn't ever made her center. but i'm sure she'll have more chances at center in the upcoming years !! she did just debut after all![]()
LOOK AT MY BBY GO
she's also a sub-rapper, but she uploaded a video to instagram of her practicing really hard so i hope she gets promoted to lead rapper in the next election
there's been a lot of rumors about nayoung planning on leaving, but they can't be believed. she worked so hard to debut (she was an understudy for four years) and i don't think she'd ever consider leaving
you should definitely stan this bby bean and give her lots of love !! a lot is going on for her and she deserves all kinds of love and support

GNM48, TEAM M
has a really deep voice
ACE, LEAD RAPPER
immune to aegyo
RANK 15
her pomeranian's name is rupi

Soohee is an absolute angel. It’s almost as if she was born straight from the world’s prettiest flower, complete with a 1992 anime transformation sequence. Except the flower was smack in the middle of a playground full of screaming children and she had to learn how to navigate the world of reckless bicycle stunts and pirate roleplaying from the get go. Soohee was born into a family of four boys, all at least five years older than her, and it’s the reason why she knows how to fight for attention so well.
So yeah maybe she wasn’t exactly the most well-behaved kid, but she was smart. She got into South Korea’s top middle school, exclusively for geniuses or rich kids, and even skipped a grade no less. In those years, she had a best friend. A best friend who was finally someone her age, who understood all her problems and shared her dreams of being a star. After two of the happiest years of Soohee’s life, her best friend took her own. Maybe it was the stress, or the bullying, or both and more. Soohee never knew of all the pain her best friend hid, and it’s her biggest regret.
So maybe Soohee isn’t this nice just because she was born this way, or because her parents were saints. And maybe she isn’t working this hard to be a star, a role model, just because it’s her dream. Maybe Soohee’s standing on the stage not just for herself, but for her best friend too.(view spoiler)

JIANG ⋆ QIFANG 23 cgd48 team 48 lead vocal r18 g9
Jiang Qifang is… interesting. He has the “untouchable” aura (or what I like to call “stone cold bitch energy”) of an elite model (he isn’t one) or a veteran artist (again, he isn’t one), so it’s not hard to see why much of his popularity comes from his visuals and #aesthetic Instagram account. But looks can be deceiving. In Qifang’s case, there are only two reasons why he keeps quiet during most of their promotions and shuts down any show of affection: 1) the PR team seems to think being cold is better than being dumb, and 2) he’s a strong believer of tough love.
In his natural environment (aka the dorms), Qifang is as noisy as they get. For now he only speaks Mandarin, Hokkien and basic Korean and English, but soon Qifang’s Bullshit will be available in Japanese too. It’s not like his parents didn’t give him enough love and attention, in fact he and his sister may have been borderline spoilt as kids, but if you had a voice like mine, wouldn’t you want the world to be full of it, too? (He’s only half joking whenever he says that.) Besides reciting Vines and Shrek quotes by heart and singing his beloved Cha-La Head Cha-La off-key, Qifang also delights in teasing and arguing. (He will never back down from a good squabble. He just wasn’t raised that way.)
✶ Qifang doesn’t talk about his family a lot, besides to reassure his bandmates he wasn’t dropped on his head as a child or swapped out with a demon, because 1) they’re filthy rich and he doesn’t want anyone to judge him based on that, and 2) they’ve practically disowned him now.
THREE REASONS TO LOVE CGD48'S HA JUNHO

Despite his busy schedule on various variety programs and as the host of Ha Junho's Starry Sky, he's never missed a single fansign and is always there to show his love to his fans through a new type of finger heart.
HIS PLAYFUL SENSE OF HUMOR
Whether it's with his members or on one of the many variety shows he's guested on, Ha Junho seems to be followed by laughter wherever he goes!
We can't forget his legendary ugly faces, either!
HIS BEAUTIFUL VOCALS
When he's so well-known for his personality and variety talents, it's easy to forget that Ha Junho actually debuted in CGD48's second generation as a main vocalist.
After losing in the third round on Super Secret Music Show: Masked Master, Guitar Man removed his mask, taking the entire panel and audience by surprise by revealing that the sweet voice belonged to none other than CGD48's resident gagman and main vocalist, Ha Junho.
Junho shed tears on stage, expressing how singing has always been his biggest dream and passion, but though he debuted in 2014, he had never had the chance to sing a song alone before. He thanked the panelists and his fans, asking that people remember him for his voice in the future.
Watch his heartfelt performance here:

────────────────────────────────── BYUN MINHO ──────────
First things first, do not ever confuse Minho for Kim Minho (not that Patrick is a bad person or anything; Minho is extremely envious of the taller boy) because he's already having enough of an identity crisis as it is. His older brother is a famous actor with several awards to back up his name and Minho is doing everything he can to stay out of his brother's shadow. So let's make this clear: there is only one Byun Minho, stop comparing him to others.
This quite honestly isn't how it was supposed to be; when Minho became an understudy, he was forced to go from being a regular teenage boy to this innocent and happy idol that doesn't have a care in the world and has to do aegyo in every variety show. He went along with it because hey! at least he was going to debut. And now he regrets having never said anything to the company, but he wanted to debut so badly and make a name for himself. His only issues now are 1) trying to maintain his television personality and not get caught and 2) trying to not freak out over the fact that his rank went from three to sixteen.

𝑒𝑖𝑔𝘩𝑡𝑒𝑒𝑛 𝑦𝑒𝑎𝑟𝑠 𝑜𝑙𝑑 + 𝑟𝑎𝑛𝑘 𝑓𝑜𝑟𝑡𝑦-𝑠𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑛 + 𝑔𝑒𝑛𝑒𝑟𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛 𝑡𝘩𝑟𝑒𝑒
They called him the “monster rookie.” But, truth be told, who was really the monster? Oh Rhujin debuted under Team C 4 years ago, with just 7 short months of training. He was a great dancer and vocalist, and for his age and training period, he was outstanding. He gathered so much popularity he debuted at 8th. In just a year, he became the favourite of many high school girls, working-class women and moms. He just seemed like the perfect boyfriend, or little brother, or son. He was handsome, well-mannered, cute, and talented. But one and a half years later it would all come crashing down.
It all started with one scandal. People claiming to be Rhujin’s middle school classmates posted stories of Rhujin being a bully in middle school and hanging around bad company. They soon proved to be lying, but the damage had already been done. Nobody knew why they decided to take their hate so far, but that was only the beginning. Months later, screenshots of Rhujin’s old SNS account dissing GNM48 and 48 Ent were posted. Again, the pictures were all Photoshopped, but by the time that was discovered, the story had died off and the public had already changed its mind about Rhujin.
A couple other coordinated attacks on him would come after, but by then everyone was too tired to really care and his rank had dropped below the 40s. For the last two and a half years he’s been close to last and he’s been told to quit more than he’s been told to forge on. And honestly? Nobody knows how this certified wreck is still standing. But he is.![]()

Rhujin, obviously, didn’t deserve all of this. He was just a kid doing what he loved — singing and dancing. And yeah, he was silly at times and he did stupid things, but he was 15 and it’s alright to be dumb when you’re 15. But it’s not alright to be crying your eyes out, or to be chased off SNS, or to feel like you have to swap your smartphone for an old cell, or to be too scared to talk during promotions.
4 years after his debut, Rhujin’s lost most of the spark in his eyes and the clumsy cheerfulness he brought with him everywhere. But, at least, he’s still here.
JEON HEEJUN the most hated member of cgd48's team c
22 + rank 19 + gen 2 + main dancer / sub-vocalist
Despite being ranked 19th overall in the group, Heejun is easily one of the most disliked members of Team C. But it wasn't always that way. Once upon a time, he was a lead vocalist and regularly ranked in the top ten. Then he made the mistake of dating his teammate, and... well. Heejun has learned a few valuable things from that incident. 1) Park Jisoo is a snake and he never deserved Heejun; 2) Ranking means everything. Because the minute the pair were discovered, 48Ent decided that the best solution was to throw the lower-ranked one under the bus. And that was Heejun.
Since the dating incident, Heejun has suffered a drop in popularity from rank 7 to rank 19, which he thinks can be attributed to a) his brief hiatus after the scandal, b) his demotion to sub-vocalist and c) the fact that Jisoo's betrayal has left him with semi-permanent emotional scars and fans angry at him for 'stealing' their man (tip to fangirls: don't date Jisoo, he'll just step on your heart).
When Heejun debuted he wanted so badly to be in Team D. Because he figured that if he was in the team with the most rappers, he'd be more likely to get lines because he wouldn't have to share with the other vocalists. But now? Now, that's Jisoo's team.
Now, Heejun wants to graduate. He's tired (like a cat, the fans say) and he's been getting progressively more unpopular for the last two years. He doesn't even get to sing anymore, although he does get to dance. He may as well leave.secrets? not anymore. maybe there's some dirt from high school, but the world already knows he's gay and he's fairly sure nothing else came up during high school.

A GUIDE TO INTERNATIONALLY KNOWN 48G MEMBER & HER ROAD TO SUCCESS
6/22/2018 by Stephen Daw
NATHAPHON BOONYASAK, OR PREFERABLY KNOWN AS NATALIE is a K-pop celebrity that's famous for her unique voice and her rapping skills. She debuted in GNM48 under 48 Entertainment in 2012, but had trouble rising to popularity because of her struggles in the Korean language and the official debut of CGD48 the following year. Nevertheless, the Thai-born rapper quickly found her spot among the higher rankings in GNM48, and continues to maintain her success.
For fans that follow up with the girl, they can recall when she left her original team (Team N) in 2015 when she was just 16, because she was struggling to ignore the hundreds of sexualizing comments from both Korean and Thai fans. Team N is known for their mature and girl-crush concepts, and while Natalie fit the description at just 13, it was difficult for her to stay. She was moved to Team G following the election that year.
Upon her transfer to Team G, it was evident that Natalie had difficulty adjusting to the new concept and being with new members. She had once again been under fire by netizens for looking uncomfortable or nervous, and it even led to the company forcing her to take a break from promotions for two months so that they could discuss what to do with the girl. After the election that year, Natalie returned to the stages, once again a member of Team N.
Since then, the rapper has maintained a stable ranking in GNM48 and entertainment officials from South Korea, Thailand, and America see a bright future for the artist. So far this year, she's starred in an American teenage show with Freeform, has been a part of a comeback with Team N, and has signed a modeling contract with Vogue.

To most, Bobby Yoon is the fairy of Team 48 that becomes even more adorable as he ages. To the people that truly know him, Bobby Yoon is a bitter old man that is tired of people making fun of his height ("5'6 isn't even that short, you pieces of shits"). It's enough that people think of him differently because he was born in Cuba and lived in Miami, but he's not sure if people will ever not talk about his height. You can't deny, though, that he's a complete tsundere and that he wouldn't die for any of his members. It's just debatable at the moment.

KimDeokmoo— Jaehyun, it's Kim Jaehyun, he even legally changed it when he became a trainee, they can't know — is, at age nineteen, doing pretty well for himself. He thinks. He trained for a long time — he started auditioning at companies at age nine, and was accepted to start training at 48 Entertainment at age eleven where he trained and was an understudy — and finally debuted in CGD48's fifth generation at seventeen years old. It was worth the wait, he thinks, since the company chose him as Team D's ace.
Since he was young, people used to call Jaehyun talented. Gifted. And maybe it did get to his head. How could it not, when people were always telling him he was so handsome, that he was such a wonderful dancer, that he would surely make it big someday? And then came the reality check: when he started training, Jaehyun was nothing special. He was nothing special next to everyone else who passed the audition, and he nearly lost his damn mind trying to catch up for the first time in his life. Nearly getting cut at a monthly evaluation less than a year into training lit a fire inside of him, and since then, he hasn't been able to put it out. He doesn't know how. He doesn't really care to learn.

PARK JISOO
21
CGD48 TEAM D MAIN RAPPER
GEN 2 ACE
#6
So yeah, Jisoo is a dick. If you searched up “Park Jisoo” you would probably get tons of Allkpop and Pann articles going “BREAKING NEWS: Park Jisoo spotted at XXX with a girl” or “Is CGD48’s Park Jisoo dating XXX?” or “Is Park Jisoo going to be kicked out of 48 Ent?” Chances are, yeah, Jisoo’s probably dating the girl (or guy) and most probably? No, he’s not going to be kicked out.
After debuting as generation two’s ace, Jisoo has only stayed at the top. For many reasons, including but not limited to: his looks, his skills, “paid voters,” “rigged results” and possibly, (very possibly) his dad being one of Rhee Soohyun’s close friends. And all of this has practically given him immunity to everything. In the past four years Jisoo’s been involved in a lot of dating rumours, and regardless of them being true or not, one thing’s for sure: only one of them is getting thrown under the bus, and it’s not Jisoo.
Why does he do this? Maybe his parents didn’t give him enough attention and he’s paying them back by giving them trouble. Or maybe he’s just a dick. Maybe Jisoo is so inexplicably sad he’s desperate for whatever human connection he can have and it’s just unfortunate they get busted every time. Or maybe he’s just a sadist. Who knows? The fans just like his bad boy concept and don’t mind getting ditched as long as they’ve had their moment.SECRET (view spoiler)

Being called ahjussi is one thing to the twenty-six year old, but the fact that some his members call him halabeoji is just downright concerning. Sure, he became a trainee at a young age and debuted five years ago, but Jihoon is far from old. He thinks this teasing has to do with that one day in practice when he was stretching and his knee made a popping noise. Since then, he's forced a more youthful personality to him. 𝐉𝐄𝐎𝐍 𝐘𝐎𝐇𝐀𝐍 ∙ 𝐇𝐀𝐍
twenty cgd48 team c ace main rapper rank 36 gen 10
He’s not gonna lie. He was excited when they told him he was going to be the next ace of Team C. Firstly, it was Team C, not Team 48. Finally, he wasn’t just some foreigner kid. And secondly, ace. Isn’t that supposed to mean number one? For the first time in his life he felt like he was getting somewhere. Which is funny, considering he’d been in Juilliard’s pre-college program since he was twelve. But whatever, that’s in the past. He left it behind when he decided to audition into 48 Ent., got accepted, and moved from New York to Seoul.
He took a huge risk coming here and he’s starting to think he should regret it. He thought there was a reason for them debuting him as Team C’s ace after only one year of training and his sloppy Korean, but he sure as hell can’t see it. After debuting at 36th, all of his self-confidence has been effectively crushed. 36th isn’t the rank of an ace. The other aces ranked from 9 to 11, all in a neat row. And here he is, 25 ranks under them, second last in his own team. And guess what? He feels like shit.
He feels guilty there’s a whole line of understudies dying to have his place, all of them more worthy than him. He feels pathetic for lying to his family that he ranks well, that yeah, he’s happy and a star. He feels dumb, having to try so hard just to keep up in this world full of rapid-fire Korean and a culture he’s never appreciated as a kid. And he feels so terribly homesick because he misses not being the only person who knows what a MetroCard is, and he misses his mom’s home-cooked dinner, and he misses New York’s yellow cabs, and he just misses home.
But if you ask him, he’s been hiding it well. He doesn’t shed tears when they ask him about home on TV, and he doesn’t break down when calling his mom, and he still manages to tell her he’s doing just fine and that no, nothing about this is hard. He thinks he’s been doing a good job of hiding his discomfort with dry humour and concealing his awkwardness with 90-degree bows and good manners. So yeah, you could say he’s got his seatbelt on, because he’s in for a long ride.(view spoiler)

The comic relief of Team G, Chanhee is known for being the lesser of Kim Jaejin, but rambunctious enough that he leaves fans questioning if he's okay. (Which if we're being honest... he's not.) When he debuted, Chanhee was among the top ten in ranks, which was a surprise considering he had very low predebut popularity, aside from dance videos he'd occasionally post on Youtube. In recent elections, his rank has slowly gotten lower and Chanhee's almost lost his mind trying to figure out what was wrong. It's not a secret that's he a dedicated person and will fight for what he wants, but people don't realize that there is an extreme truth to that statement.

SIMON BAEK SEHUN
20 CGD48 TEAM G MAIN DANCER LEAD VOCAL R26 G1
(view spoiler)
![]()
Throwback to June 2011, when thirteen-year-old Simon Baek debuted in CGD48’s Team G. He was tiny, cute, and the maknae CGD48 needed. He was like a pet they paraded at every variety show. Look at Simon! He can dance! He can draw! He can do maths! He can speak English and French and Spanish and Korean! And honestly? Simon loved it. Who wouldn’t want to be the beloved maknae of CGD48?
Fast-forward to 2017. In June, he ranked within the top 12. In November, he ranked 30. What happened? Well, he went on a variety show and was asked for his thoughts about one of his hyungs who had graduated. And instead of being the perfect ex-maknae everyone was expecting him to be, he rolled his eyes and simply said, “I hate him.” Nobody mistook it for a joke, because, well, it wasn’t one. So a scandal ensued. Did Simon really hate his hyung? What about his other hyungs? After what happened to GNM48’s Team G, nobody was taking this lightly, and the scandal dragged on until it died out in late December. (And for good reason. Although 48 Ent. did give an official explanation — basically: Simon was just kidding guys, calm down — Simon never explained himself.)
Back to 2018. Simon is slowly rising once again as people begin to forgive and forget. Maybe he really was just joking, or maybe he was just in a bad mood that day. It was only one incident after all. He’s still the bright maknae the nation knows from 2011, isn’t he? Simon himself isn’t so sure.
LIM WOOSUNG ──────────────────────────── 임우성

generation 7
rank 30
Lim Woosung is not popular. And there's a really simple reason for that: he may be cute (in a looks-half-his-age way), he may be funny (occasionally), he may be a good dancer, singer and rapper — but he is also quiet, unboastful, and exactly the kind of person who always gets looked over. He's the Second Choice. The sub-vocalist and sub-rapper who gets maybe two lines if he's lucky. And despite his best efforts to remind people of his existence, he always ends up ranking low — because the people like him, but they like other people more, and so they vote for the other person instead.
Woosung is a good vice-leader. He's supportive, he's organised, and he does his utmost to help where and when he can. He may not be able to relate to everything, but he's willing to try; he may not be particularly assertive but he'll happily back up those who are. People don't listen to Woosung, but that's not his job. His job is just to support their actual leader and practice in the futile hope that the company might give him more lines.

that she tried to seduce the higher ups to be it.
NOW KNOWN AS TEAM N'S GLASS HEART, Baek Dahye was one of the more popular understudies before her debut, expected to quickly become a high-ranking member. And honestly? She expected it, too. It wasn't a secret that at her debut, and still now, she was one of GNM48's most stable vocalists. But then, overcome with nerves during her debut stage, her high note went tragically flat. And in that moment? Every single little shred of confidence that Dahye had worked to gain over the years — gone.
And even though after almost two years since her debut stage she's been able to gain a reputation as one of the best performers on her team, Dahye hasn't been able to rebuild her self-esteem. She's a sensitive girl, Team N's crybaby, she always has been; and though she can put on a fierce and confident face on stage, Dahye struggles to feel the part. She used to be fearless, ready to try new things back then, but now, she can't even improve her ranking because the idea of going on variety shows alone or speaking up when she's with the group gives her anxiety. All she wants is to go back, restart, feel like the girl she was two years ago, but she doesn't even really know who that girl was anymore.

On stage, in public, Eric is shy. He's awkward and self-conscious and fully aware that his Korean is far from the best (it's not that bad, he'd easily get a band 6 in the HSC, but it's not at a level he's happy with). As for other languages, well. His Japanese is probably best out of all the languages he speaks aside from English, purely because he's been learning it since primary school, and his Mandarin is decent. They're all really at a standard where he could speak in public – but his insecurity, based on his poor understanding when he first came to Korea, really just compounds his already existent shyness.
In the dorm, though? In the dorm, Eric is loud and energetic, fuelled by the nonstop energy supplied by his stash of redskins. He's not necessarily chaotic – although he does have a habit of bringing home ladybugs accidentally, and is possibly furthering Tetsuya's desire for an early retirement.
Eric is ranked 48 for two very simple reasons: one, the aforementioned shyness, and two, he debuted less than a month ago. He was a trainee for only a year and a half, after leaving school at sixteen-turning-seventeen and moving to Korea to join the group, and while a year and a half is really plenty of time to adapt to a new place, Eric is undeniably shy (despite his apparent extroverted-ness around people he's close to) so he's still trying to get used to it.
