Deb (debsd) | 13 comments I'm with you: the Voyage is the best one I've used. I'm sorry Amazon have discontinued it. I bought mine quite recently, replacing my Paperwhite, and it's just that much better in every way. I did consider the Oasis, but I decided against it because it seems like the extra width would make it not quite so portable.

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12661 comments I've only had the baby and paperwhite, wish I'd bought the paperwhite earlier, so much better, apart from collections

The Fire isn't a Kindle, not if you're a purist. ;-) It's a tablet with all the pros and cons that brings. I wish Amazon hadn't branded it as part of the Kindle range, because I think it causes quite a lot of confusion. Reading on a Fire (or any tablet) is a completely different experience to using a dedicated ebook reader.

I agree, they shouldn't have marketed it as a Kindle, I know people who have assumed its a colour e-reader and been disappointed by things like not being able to read in the sun.

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments I read in the sun. Just whack up the backlight.

Me too.

I had a keyboard kindle first, and then a baby kindle which I still use. I tend to use the Fire more though.

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Still got my keyboard kindle. Prefer the fire, though.

Anna Faversham (annafaversham) | 1753 comments I've still got the original type, I think, it certainly doesn't have a keyboard. A Christmas present, and it's still going strong and I love it.

Lisa | 75 comments I’ve just seen something on the reddit site (my son uses it) that has suggested a new kindle will be out on the 17th Oct. no details but it has been mentioned over in China or something. Anyone buying might want to wait a week. It of course could be rubbish.
