Of course, horror will not be an option for November so definitely join in next time =]

You are welcome to nominate as many as you want! Then, you have a better chance of having one of your books seconded.

Great!Hopefully all of these count as horror books -- if not, I can edit my post.
Haunted Ground by Erin Hart
Daughters of the Witching Hill by Mary Sharratt
The Monk by Matthew Lewis
Horns by Joe Hill
A Dark Dividing by Sarah Rayne
Child's Play by Carmen Posadas
Mind of Winter by Laura Kasischke
Miramont's Ghost by Elizabeth Hall
Gabi wrote: "Maybe The Picture of Dorian Gray? Haven't read it yet but heard it's really good!"If you are interested in a spooky classic, I was planning on reading The Legend of Sleepy Hollow during the month of October!
I would also like to nominate #murdertrending. I don't think it's a "scary" book, but it was under the horror genre and it sounds fun and interesting.
I am absolutely not a horror fan, but I have in fact mildly enjoyed a few so-called mash-ups where classical novels (and sometimes historical figures like royalty) are turned into novels with zombies and vampires. Too bad that Sissi, die Vampirjägerin: Scheusalsjahre einer Kaiserin is only available in German, has not been translated into English (as this was a totally fun story of the las empress of Austria being a vampire hunter and then falling in love with a vampire, with the premise that many if not most of the royal houses of Europe were/are in fact vampiric in nature). I do highly recommend it as a fun especially October read, but only if you are reasonably fluent in German (and I therefore and sadly cannot recommend Sissi, die Vampirjägerin: Scheusalsjahre einer Kaiserin for a group read). But I do nominate Pride and Prejudice and Zombies which I have been wanting to read for a while.

I would also like to read this classic soon! If it's picked, I'm in!
Manybooks wrote: "I am absolutely not a horror fan, but I have in fact mildly enjoyed a few so-called mash-ups where classical novels (and sometimes historical figures like royalty) are turned into novels with zombi..."I have read this! And it is wonderful! If you like Jane Austen and her temperamental characters and you also have a thing for the un-dead, then you need to read this book! The Bennett sisters kicking zombie butts is a joy to read :)
Allison wrote: "Manybooks wrote: "I am absolutely not a horror fan, but I have in fact mildly enjoyed a few so-called mash-ups where classical novels (and sometimes historical figures like royalty) are turned into..."Thanks, it does sound fun. And I sure hope it is better than Anne of Green Gables and Ghouls, where the author simply added a few ghouls into Montgomery's original text which was plagiarized almost verbatim.
I also have another German language mash up on deck, Die Leichen Des Jungen Werther, which is Goethe's Wether with zombies, and hey, Werther actually seems to be a bit more active and not so annoying in this (but also sadly, not available in English).

I would also like to read this one. I think a classic its a great idea.
I will second The Haunting of Hill House. I’ve been wanting to read this one too. You all have some great picks so far! I’m so glad you are in this group!
Peggy wrote: "The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson"I have an audio of The Haunting of Hill House so I'm game for that too!
Erika wrote: "I’d like to read The Legend if Sleepy Hollow as well!"It is one of those classics that I hope will not be too creepy ...
Have read it a while a go but I would not mind rereading the legend of sleepy Hollow.I am going to search my to read list and see if I have any horror on it.
Stephanie wrote: "Doll Bones"This one isn't on my shelf but I can get it from Overdrive so I will not be overly upset if it's chosen. lol. I love Holly Black and this is one of the few I haven't read yet!
Manybooks wrote: "Stephanie wrote: "Doll Bones"I will also second that! Heard it is supposed to be quite good."
And , while it is a bit creepy, it won't give you nightmares. Neither will Legend of Sleepy Hollow or Picture of Dorian Gray. They might give you some chills, but there is no gore or chainsaw slashers, or anything of that sort.
I'm voting for: The Last Time I Lied
The Outsider (by Stephen King)
or Neverworld Wake (heard this is SUPER creepy!!)
Also I've read BABY TEETH. As someone who scares easily, this didn't scare me much but it definitely was creepy!
Thanks for the invite to the group. Looking forward to reading along with you guys next month. There are a lot of great books in the pool.
And by “pool” I mean “poll”.. haha. *cough* Pet Semetary *cough*.
Sorry, I think I’m getting a cold....
I'm glad you are as excited as I am. I'm so grateful that we are shaping into a real group. I was not sure how many people would join last month, and I am so impressed by the wonderful people here!
I'm not a huge fan of horror (meaning i'm a scardy cat) but I have IT by Stephen King sitting on my bookshelf collecting dust. But it is a huge book so I get if its too much for a group read. I'm down to (at least) try out whatever group read everyone decides on :)
Hey Kayla - the Stephen King Fans group has a small group reading It in October if you’re looking for some people to read along with, and in case it doesn’t make it in this group.

Unfortunately, the nominations are closed for this month, but there is a Stephen King book in the running! Go vote on the poll =]
