Any suggestions or comments to improve our group are always welcome. Don't be shy, tell us what you think.

I know everyone has busy lives. God only knows doing what, but every now and then let us know that you are still alive. Most groups fail from the lack of participation. Otherwise we will worry that you have been accosted by a madman, dismembered and ran through a wood chipper. Don't make me show up at your door step with a chainsaw and wearing a hockey mask! Just kidding, my wife has me chained in the basement with the rest of the rotting corpses. Damn it stinks down here, wheres the Lysol?
We can only assume that this group is perfect in every way and there is no room for improvement. That's awesome, I guess we set the gold standard for all the other groups on Goodreads. Lol
Suggest more members than the usual five us make a post or comment once in awhile. Silence is not golden here at Scardey Cat!
Yeah, but I can only hear the ones on the left side because I've lost most of my hearing in the right ear.
Anyone want to add some creepy topics that we may have overlooked? If so let us know and we will add them.

Ima lovin this psychotic group. Can I bring some of my slightly off, (really off) friends?
Too funny.
This is a public group. Anyone can join, but we prefer the creepy weird ones like the rest of us. Susan you must be psychic. How did you know I had hundreds of tree air fresheners hanging from the ceiling in my bathroom?
Any suggestions on how we can get our fellow Scaredy Cat members who have never made a post, comment or opinion to do so? Were all in this house of horrors together and we want to hear from you dang it. The more sickening, distasteful and horrid conversations the better. That's why were all here, isn't it!!!
It's difficult to get non-posting members to post/visit without nagging them via Goodreads Private Messaging system, which verges on SPAMMING, as far as I'm concerned, so...
I dunno. :(
I dunno. :(
We can't force them? Ahhh... Maybe we could send them pics of you and I until they're finally so scared that they come here and post about their horrifying experiences of receiving our pics.
I couldn't agree more. Yes it was time, absolutely nothing to do with chain smoking, heavy drinking and drugs. Lol
Is there any official structure to Scaredy Cat? It might encourage more folks to post actively if someone (or a few folks) was in charge of welcoming new members. I joined about a week ago and nobody has welcomed me. No, I'm not upset, but I don't feel especially welcome as a new member. Somebody more shy than I am might feel uncomfortable.
We used to have some structure, but the group grew too fast. I couldn't keep up welcoming each new member personally by name. Now we just welcome all new members as a group. We would love to have somebody volunteer as the welcome ghoul if anyone is interested helping us out.
Anyone have any suggestions for some new topics of discussion? With all the creepy things out there we must have missed something. Maybe a complaint department about horror books, writers, movies, TV shows, actors or creepy characters in general.
Goodreads doesn't seem to have a very good format for discussing what we've just read in a group like ours. I always have posted what I'm currently reading, and I write a short review when I'm done. Unfortunately, that info always shows up in a section devoted to that book, along with the comments of other folks who have also read it. I don't see any way to link my comments to our group unless I copy all of it to a new thread in our area. I suspect it's just a problem typical of a site as large as Goodreads. And as much as I love horror, I also read thrillers, mysteries and historical non-fiction.Have any other groups resolved the issue of reviews being grouped by book, rather than by genre?
You can link to anything on Goodreads by just placing the raw link (or use HTML, if you're familiar with it) right here at Scaredy Cats:

monthly group reads or maybe a monthly movie? the movie could be public domain or something from youtube! other clubs I'm in does the monthly group reads and I enjoy them. the mods come up with a theme then start a thread for suggestions then create a poll and we vote and read the winning book! :)
I second the monthly movie and then everyone can post what they thought of the movie? Children Of The Corn
Just a reminder that there are more topics of discussion that are hidden. Example: showing 5 of 7 in small print. We don't want you to miss anything. We also want your opinions on how to improve this group, so lets hear it and don't hold nothing back!!!
NOTICE: We have added the following rules for new members who wish to join the group. This is an active group. If you do not wish to participate or interact, this is probably not the group for you.
Quit poking me with a pointy stick!! I'm posting already! * grumbling as I slouch back to my corner*
Robert, It might be good to have a discussion on how often posting is expected - but only as a general rule or guideline. I do agree it's awkward to have 200 or 300 members, but only 5 or 10 active.I'll throw out once a week, just to get the discussion started. Some of us will post more often and some a bit less. Obviously, there will be times when a member is on vacation or their job requirements make that temporarily impossible, so no absolute frequency could be expected. What are your thoughts on this?
In my opinion most people have lives and don't live on the internet let alone on Scaredy Cat. However, they should at least make a post or opine once a month. With over 600 members that keeps the group active and engaged. My pet peeve is members who have belonged for months and have never interacted since they joined. What is the point in belonging to a group? We will always have the 5 or 10 that keeps things going, but it sure gets lonely at times!
I tend to agree with Robert, and if you change your settings with emails, you can get notifications whenever someone posts something in a group. Therefore, you've been "nudged" as a reminder to respond. It only takes a minute to post something, and why belong to a group if you're not interested in responding at least once a month? I have GR on my phone, Ipad, Kindle, and my computer, so not much gets by me. I'm the lurker outside your window. lol
Thanks, Robert. That gives me an idea of what you had in mind, and I'm sure it will be a helpful guideline for others.

I really like the idea of a month movie to watch together or maybe 2 movies a month (watching a movie takes less time) , since I don't do that in my other groups. That would be cool. Also we could do something like what we did on Halloween with Robert's story, with a different theme, like Boccaccio did in the Decameron :P. But I don't have anything specific in mind for that mmmm
No, that would be cruel and unusual punishment. Maybe sent to your crypt without supper of decaying body parts.
Okay Scaredy Cats, we need some new ideas for topics and discussions. I know there must be things of interest that we haven't talked about, relating of course to the macabre. Now let's hear it!!!!
