Billy (pokemonjesuzzz111111) | 1 comments Hi Louise! Thank you very much for wanting to get this group talking and for asking your lovely question! My favorite book in the series is........that I have not read any books in the series. I am one of the Dune fanatics and.....a Dune newbie! I am really looking forward to reading my first Dune book written by Frank Herbert! Louise will you please tell us your favorite book in the series and will you please tell us something that you enjoy about the book?

Lori S. (fuzzipueo) | 7 comments Welcome Louise. My personal favorite books are (because each is worth the time): Children of Dune, Dune, and, yes, Heretics and Chapter House (ducks).

Colin | 21 comments Of the originals, Dune is my favorite. It is easily one of the greatest novels ever written.
God Emperor of Dune is my least favorite. To me, it was just plain boring.

God Emperor is one of those books which, once read, is best remembered as history.

Lou (louwags) | 25 comments The first Dune book by Frank Herbert stands out above the rest, although all of his original books are exquisitely crafted.

As for the Herbert/Anderson books, I do like them for what they are if considered as stand alone books. They are nowhere near the quality of writing that Frank wrote but at least Brian had his father's notes available to follow when writing them.

I'm glad this thread was started. I was just thinking about reading them all again.
