Fun to start this buddy read.
Really curios about how I will like it, I remember not liking it years ago yet it was my friends fave series. Maybe I should look it up on booktube first to be more positively minded?

Whatever helps you go in to it with a positive mind is a good call. After all, you may love it this time. Tastes sometimes change as we get older, so you never know. :)

Read the orologe thingy and three pages into the story. So far liking Artemis, curios why butler is named butler?

Perhaps a title rather than his actual name? That's the impression I'm getting.

Could be. Its windy and rainy now so taking a break from reading( scared I will be scared cause the action plot and dramatic weather). Also good things on the telly now.

So I figured out about Butler. (view spoiler)[Not sure if this would be considered a spoiler, but putting it in spoiler alert things anyhow. But it says around the end of the first chapter that it's his family's last name. It mentions that the Butlers had been working for the family for a long time. So that's how come he's got a name like that... It's his last name. (hide spoiler)]

Yes I read that as well.
I`m three chapters in, enjoying that its multiple pov.

(view spoiler)[The software he makes to translate the book is really cool. Also, I like how the writing was similar to the real old writing, like ancient Egyptian. Makes it more believable that he could manage to translate it, since it really is true that languages share some common features that make translation possible if you're good with languages but faced with a new one to figure out. I haven't read past chapter 2 yet, but will be reading more in a bit (sorting eMails and things I need to do online first).

I`m about halfway through. Really enjoying it. I do see the point some reviews have said that its predictable,yet its not highly predictable or boring.
Getting more and more interested in the movie thats out next year.

I ended up finishing the book. I really enjoyed it.

I'm on chapter four, and really enjoying it. Was busy earlier, or I'd be further through it myself by now. Planning to continue reading this evening.

I finished the book last night.

I really enjoyed it, and agree with you about the different point of view thing; I think it was great how we got to see both sides of things as the story progressed.
