Hallo, hoomans! I'm so glad you made this group; I was beginning to think we were alone! We are Sagan and Loki, a 7YO 4th Grader and a cat (puppet).
We have a primarily educational/imagination-based youtube channel with a book review series, and a shared playlist of book reviews or readings by others: www.youtube.com/c/saganandloki
(I, Loki, sometimes read bedtime stories, but life events have our channel way behind. We expect to be back to normal in October.)
We don't accept ARC's but are happy to forward opportunities along when we get approached. We don't review every book we read, only the ones that are somehow unusual or special, especially if they might be of interest to reluctant readers. Right now we are reading two Minecraft series and a lot of James Patterson-branded stuff.

Hi Neha! I'm Eugenia (Jeanne) and I have written a book entitled, Brandon Makes Jiǎo Zi (餃子). The story is about a little Chinese-American boy named Brandon who gets a surprise visit from his grandma from China, Pó Po (婆婆). While Brandon and Pó Po (婆婆) are making jiǎo zi (餃子), Brandon makes a mess and he and Pó Po (婆婆) have a good laugh! They chat and bond over the experience. Then Brandon eats and eats and eats and makes a surprise at the end that delights the whole family! This story includes some conversational Mandarin Chinese (including Pinyin – pronunciation). When my son (the real Brandon) was very little, I couldn’t find children’s storybooks to read to him which touched upon Chinese culture and which included some Chinese (Mandarin) words to teach and/or reinforce his Chinese vocabulary, so I started writing my own. But please note that you don't need to know any Chinese to read this story! I also have an audio of the book (just me reading it, for now) on my website at http://eugeniachu.com/audio-for-brand....
If this sounds interesting to you, please email me at chueugenia@yahoo.com and I will gladly send you a copy of my book. For more info:

A bit about myself
I have been creating stories from the very tender age of eleven. After many years as a management consultant in corporate Britain, I now pursues my dream of authoring children’s books.
Being born in West Africa, in a home where storytelling was customary, had a lasting impression on me and I now draw inspiration from the many stories I was told as a child. I use a unique writing style that makes it easy for children to learn to read while stirring up their imagination.

Hi everyone—happy to join this group! My name is Kristin Pierce, and I wanted to introduce my two books: Your Inner Compass That Could, and Mayva O'Meere, Creationeer (details on both are below). Please let me know if you are interested in reading/reviewing either of my books. I look forward to hearing back from you!
Details on both can be found on my website: www.innercompassbooks.com
Your Inner Compass That Could
“The spark in your eyes
will be proof you’ve discovered
Your passion, your purpose,
your best self being uncovered.”
Inspiring, whimsical, and brightly illustrated, Your Inner Compass That Could provides a fresh perspective on navigating the magical adventure of life. Simple rhymes encourage young readers to let their inner wisdom lead the way to true fulfillment, while imparting messages of self-empowerment, self-growth, and self-confidence. It is a book for anyone who has ever had a gut feeling, a strong knowing or felt a spark of passion deep inside. It is never too early for children, or too late for adults, to realize that they are truly magnificent, powerful beings with unlimited potential and are equipped with an unique internal compass to help guide their way.
Mayva O'Meere, Creationeer
“She was a free-flying soul, with a heart full of fire,
Who undeniably followed her creative desire.
From the moment she woke till she crashed hard at night,
Mayva was immersed in composing things that she liked.”
Mayva O’Meere has a BIG imagination and an insatiable desire to create. But, when her elaborate endeavours go way too far, she lands herself in a big mess and a pile of trouble. Follow Mayva on her winding journey of self-discovery as she follows her inner compass and unearths some powerful messages along the way. Full of incredible art references, empowering messages, and boundless creativity, this book is surely one that will spark creative passion and dreaming big in children of all ages, while becoming a cherished read for every member of the family.
Hi Everyone,My picture book, Special Memory, is a playful, feel good story that suggests using positive memories to help in times of stress and difficulties. Positive memories can then provide strength and remind us “good” times will happen again.
Fiery five-year-old Emily is semi-cooperative when her mother announces the idea of making a SPECIAL MEMORY one summer morning. She doesn’t want to get used to getting up early for kindergarten. Despite herself, Emily finds dancing in the warm rain with her older sister and mother while wearing pajamas fun until the storm changes. Emily’s mother then pulls her daughters indoors and teaches them how special memories make a difference in our lives. Emily doesn’t think a SPECIAL MEMORY will help in kindergarten until her first day when she remembers sticky wet pajamas and hair, along with warm mud squishing between her toes.
Special Memory is a picture book meant for all children, but especially for those about to begin kindergarten, or anyone needing a reminder about the special power of good memories.
Please let me know if anyone is interested in providing a review or a blurb.
Best Always,
Christina Francine
Hi Everyone!I am an educator who writes mainly for children and my picture book, Special Memory, will be released Sept. 15th, 2019. The story's focus in on how special memories can help get us through difficult times. The main character (Emily) is about to begin Kindergarten and isn't too enthused. She's a feisty thing and doesn't mind letting her mother know her feelings. Mom shows her a valuable lesson however that Emily soon tries.
I'm looking for readers who will provide feedback and a review.
Praise for Special Memory
- Readers will find “this tender story confidently illustrates the notion in a way that will be heartening to both child and adult.”
---Nina Foster, Literary author and editor
- Young readers learn two lessons in this charming story (Special Memory). One, special memories can be deliberately created; and two, memories are great tools for offsetting fears and anxieties. And as a bonus, there is an activity guide at the back of the book that explores the themes therein, and, since the particular memory in the story is weather related, it also includes a great introduction to some climate essentials.
—Joan Schweighardt, No Time for Zebras, and several novels.

My name is Carol Smith. I have published a children's fiction called "Tales of Wonder Woods", released in September 2019. It is available on Amazon and my website is http://covenantbooks.com/books/?book=.... Currently, I am writing a children's fiction called "Magnolia Fury". This is a historical fiction about a family living on a southern plantation during the Antebellum period through the Civil War. I enjoy writing for children, and I am a big fan of historical fiction and stories based upon real life events. This Coronavirus event has confirmed my suspension that I am definitely a "social butterfly". I can hardly wait to reconvene my social life with human beings and not videos. I like discussion and meeting new authors and readers. Because I am now retired, it gives me the freedom to write and enjoy some of my favorite hobbies and meeting new challenges. I would love to hear from you. Carol Smith, May 30, 2020
Thanks, Carol, for inviting me to this group. I write young adult books but also books for adults. My latest for adults, Moonshadow, is about a woman who risks her life to find her granddad's long-lost love, a runaway from an Indian residential school, before it's too late. But it's also about stepping outside the white world with its perks and privileges to see the world of Indigenous Peoples. https://www.amazon.com/Moonshadow-Joy...
