Muses The book i'm looking for is set in new york, what i mainly remember about it is a group of teenagers were riding a bus, then suddenly everything just stops and the whole city is in chaos as a disease spreads and turns people into zombies? i don't think they're exactly zombies though. But yeah they camp out at the empire state building and basically fight for survival, a bit of romance might've been involved. I read the book in 2015 but i recall it being published around 2010-2011? i never got to finish it though so thats why i'm looking for it :)))

Andy Phillips | 243 comments I read After the End recently and it has a lot of similarities, but some differences to the description. The book is set in New York, and the main characters are late teens or early twenties. However, there are quite a few characters with different ages. These main characters are initially on the subway, I believe, not a bus. It's right that there are 'zombies' but I think they're more infected people, not undead. There is some romance. I don't think the Empire State Building was mentioned at all. So, similar enough to be likely.

Muses I checked n read the reviews of the book, its seems very similar but doesn't really look like the book that i read, i recall there being 3 books of this story, thanks for helping though!

Muses is still looking.

"Read this series (about three books?) back in 2015 but haven't been able to find it since. Some aspects I remember is that the MC was on public transportation when the apocalypse started and found other people to take cover with. I remember at some point they resided at the top of the empire state building and had to carry a generator up and down?"

Google Books preview of Chasers by James Phelan - Rainbowheart's suggestion:
- There are different cover images.

Kirkus Review:
- "Four teens struggle to survive in a post-apocalyptic New York City.
After Jesse, Dave, Anna and Mini, 16-year-old youth ambassadors for the United Nations, are tossed around in a massive subway explosion, they emerge on the streets of the city to see people drinking from fire hydrants and rivers—and bodies. The teens take refuge in the Rainbow Room in Rockefeller Center, using the high vantage point to survey the remnants of Manhattan and plot their escape from the zombielike people they call Chasers. ..."

Was it definitely the Empire State Building?
