Ooo that sounds like fun. I don't think I've heard of it so can you tell me what it is? You don't have to ve exact I just need the main gist of it so when I make a challenge I don't do something completely different from what you want

It could be a couple different ways. It could be challenges such as “Take a photo of books with a purple color scheme”. It could also be taking non-book photos, but with book themed challenges, such as the theme of the photo needs to be “Stephen King” inspired, and you take photography of a spooky setting.
Maybe we could do a challenge where everything is just something you have never done! Like a book from an author you’ve never read, a genre you have never or hardly ever read, a book you never thought you would read, a book that you have never read the synopsis or know very little about but just want to read. Something like that.
In another group I'm in were are doing a team challenge called Disney princesses. We have several Disney princesses as a main Category. Each princess has a sub category. Ex: Snow White Read a book with a white cover. Each team started off with 3 characters. We have to finish 4 of the sub categories of each character before we can get a new one. Next month is Disney Villains which I am super excited for.
Anywho that is just an suggestion for a challenge.
Or do a word search. Like the month of October would be Halloween themed so there would be 20-50 words related to Halloween. Only five words per book.
@JamieThat sounds really fun! The theme would have to be something pretty iconic (like Disney) so most people could relate to it.
book playlists maybe??either: songs that they usually listen to while reading or a challenge wherein people can come up with playlists for a certain book (this is similar to something that I have been doing on my blog)
@AltheaThat's an awesome idea! I love music and this would be really challenging to encompass a book's theme.

OMG THANKS!! I'll probably get the details in order and get it set up. I was thinking of starting out which nominations and then pull a poll. Then the book/s that gets the most votes can be like a book of the week/book of the month playlist post that people can add songs to.
Idk XD the details are still kind of messy
QUESTION FROM MODDo guys have any suggestions for challenges and games you want to see in this group?
Hello! I can't find where the December group and buddy read book discussion posts are. Can someone direct me to those pages?
@RoGive me a few and I'll take a peek. It looks like we may be slacking a bit with getting them created.
I've contacted the other mods about the December Group Read picks. I'd make the threads myself but I'm not sure how many of the books we're picking from the poll.As of right now, there's only one official Buddy Read thread for December. There's a chance of another one being made if the members who requested it respond to my message.
I will work on creating the January nomination threads if the other mods don't respond in the next couple of days.

not for halloween this year ;( but there will be a winter themed event instead during november-december ;)
Sarah wrote: "Are you going to restart the BINGO challenge for any time in the future?? The thread is closed assumingly because the challenge dates are over?"in reply to Sarah: we do not have any plans of the moment sorry :( yes the thread is closed because the challenge is over but you can still edit your past messages in the thread if you want to update them
Have ya'll considered creating a Discord group? Might be fun to more easily communicate or have casual discussions there, especially during the Summer Days and other group events.
I was wondering if there are any rules for dnf'd books in regard to the summer readathon? Does my group still get points for the amount of pages i managed to read?
Hafsah wrote: "I was wondering if there are any rules for dnf'd books in regard to the summer readathon? Does my group still get points for the amount of pages i managed to read?"Unfortunately, DNF books do not count in any way for the Summer Days Games.
However, for the June Readathon, you would receive points for pages read.
Hope this helps :)

I'll bring it up to the other mods—there are about to be two of us this summer (everything is fine—this is a planned hiatus), so it might be more than we can manage together. But maybe!
Hey there! I have a quick question: So I'm supposed to be buddy reading Children of Blood and Bone with a few other members, but no one has been reading the book or updating the thread other than me for the past couple days. I'm almost done with the book and am planning to make it count for the Summer Days challenge, but will it still count as a buddy read if no one other than me seems to be reading it?

I'll count it! You signed up for the buddy read and have been making posts. You participated and you shouldn't be penalized since others are slow to add their comments :)

Wonderful--thank you!
Liz wrote: "Is there a discord server for this book club? I feel it would be helpful in discussing the books."We currently don't but thanks for bringing that to our attention!! It's a good idea. We're now discussing it and will be creating a poll soon to see if the other members will be interested :)
I was wondering if we could start a booktok thread? Maybe under the getting to know you section (like the bookstagram one)? I would love to follow more people from this group on there 😊
Amelia wrote: "I was wondering if we could start a booktok thread? Maybe under the getting to know you section (like the bookstagram one)? I would love to follow more people from this group on there 😊"We can do that!

Is there a minimum page number requirement for books to count towards the Book Count 2021 challenge? Thanks!
Vanessa wrote: "Is there a minimum page number requirement for books to count towards the Book Count 2021 challenge? Thanks!"Nope! Not for the Book Count challenge.
Hi, I'm curious about whether or not we can join a buddy read thread that has already been created but has not started yet? And if so, how do you go about that?I'm hoping to join in on the Seven Deadly Shadows buddy read for June that starts on the 15!

Talk to the original buddy readers and just join in! Also, you can go to the buddy nomination read threads and ask to be officially added to the group.
Hi, I'm wondering if I know about upcoming sales at bookstores if that would be considered promotion and should be kept in that channel or could be mentioned in passing in other channels?
Sarah wrote: "Hi, I'm wondering if I know about upcoming sales at bookstores if that would be considered promotion and should be kept in that channel or could be mentioned in passing in other channels?"Please keep it in the promotions channel :)
Nyssa wrote: "Hi. Is there a master list of upcoming buddy reads that we can see ahead of time?"Hey Nyssa!! So sorry for this super late reply! I hope you were able to figure this out but in case you didn't/someone else has the same question:
Buddy reads are decided as they are requested on the request discussion thread (which is always found in the Nominations discussion folder, but all open buddy reads can also be found here.
