The Procrastinators Book Club discussion

Reading and books are a huge part of this group but...sometimes you get in a slump. Sometimes you just want to binge watch all seasons of Parks & Rec in a week. Because who needs a life right? This discussion board is meant to be a place where we share our love for movies or tvs shows. Is your favorite book being made into a tv show? Do you want to complain/gush about a new movie that came out? The options are endless. Here is yet another way to get to know your fellow members and hey, you might even get more recommendations (my show recommendations are getting up to the length of my TBR)!

I’m watching the shadowhunters TV show literally right now even though I should be at school. I took a “sick” day 😂🙈

I've never been much of a tv/movie person until some years ago^^ but then I watched The Hunger Games movies and they made me fall in love with movies and cinema ❤
My favorite tv show the The 100. I'm absolutely obessesed with it and I'm constantly gushing about it^^ I haven't seen the latest season yet because it's not out in my country, but I'm gonna order the DVD from UK soon and I can't wait!!

American Horror Story season 8 has just started and it's AMAZING! AHS has been my favorite show for years, I literally can't wait for the next episode! Also the The Purge franchise has become a show and it's so good already! It's like my fav show has a new season and one of my fav movie series has a show this month has been great! :D

@Lauren I've watched that too :) was a bit disappointed though, but I kept watching because I love the characters (Malec ❤) so much!

@Anni (idk how the reply function works lol seems like the app doesn't have it for me at least) the 100 is amazing! I bought the newest season digitally on amazon so i could watch a new episode every week, right the day after its US release :)

@Josi there'd no reply function on the app, it's fine :) I can't wait to watch season 5, I will probably binge it in a few days and then I'll be sad again!

Okay so me and fiance Wy are in the 6th season of Shameless. But I am watching on my own Sons of Anarchy (just made it through season 1) and Once Upon a Time (still in season 1 on episode 9 I think)

I recently finished watching Brooklyn 99, which is one of my favorite shows!! I honestly can't wait for season 6 (which comes out next year...so far away, ahhh :( ). Other shows that I love are One Day at a Time (a Netflix reboot) and Andi Mack (a Disney Channel show, haha).

I also started watching Kim's Convenience a few days ago, and I'm really enjoying it! It's about a Korean American family running a convenience store in Toronto.

I also have sooo many shows on my to-watch list, haha: Parks and Rec, The Good Place, Jane the Virgin, Friends, The Office, and so many more. (Let me know if I should prioritize any of these shows!! Hehe.)

@Josi it is! Recently I've been in a mood to rewatch the whole show...maybe I'll do that soon! Seasons 3 & 4 were my favorites so far.

so i literally start a bunch of tv shows at the same time and randomly choose the one i want to watch on that day. so right now i am watching this is us (late to the party but it’s soooo good!), american vandal, the goldbergs, it’s always sunny in philadelphia, and criminal minds.

In the middle of season 4 of the office for the 5th time lol
Also in the middle of the Punisher Netflix show. Very brutal but very good.

JANE THE VIRGIN

I rarely watch TV but just started S1 of Reign and instantly addicted!

I have two "sets" of shows that I watch. TV shows I watch by myself, and shows I watch with my boyfriend.

The shows I watch with my boyfriend are:
Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, Star Trek: the Next Generation, Parks & Rec, Deadwood, South Park, Rick and Morty, Brooklyn 99, and Timeless.

The shows I watch by myself are:
Sailor Moon R, Ozark, and Atypical.

Honestly, the only reason I'm watching Ozark and Atypical is because the Sailor Moon R blu-rays have been out of stock on Amazon for awhile. I'm not a huge fan of either show but they definitely kill time.

Love Gotham! Only partway through S2 though.

I'm kind of im a slump right now and i've been watching OINTB, Rick and Morty and Girls(which is kind of a guilty pleasure) and i have a bunch of other tv shows that i have to catch up on and watch the new season that came out like AHS and The Handmaids Tale etc.

I love Brooklyn 99!! <3 and Parks and Rec has been on my to-watch list for a while.

Parks and Rec is pretty amusing as well. I would recommend watching it with a friend.

I am currently watching Black Mirror. Each episode has an unique story & theme. Will start with Season 4 soon..

Ahh I'm so glad you're enjoying B99; it's honestly such a great & hilarious show. :) And I'll definitely keep that in mind for Parks and Rec!

I have finished the whole series and each episode just blows me away or surprises me in some way.

They tackle themes and subjects that normal tv shows would never think of touching.

I love B99 too! It's hilarious but I have yet to finish the last season :(

I have been watching American Horror story season 1! Trying to get into that Halloween mood early.

Another show I've watched on Netflix (and that nobody ever seems to mention) is Orphan Black, I really loved that show!

I’m currently watching Arrow (I’m in season 2) and I’ve paused The Flash for a while so I can catch up and not be confused at crossovers 😂
Also, I want to start watching How to get away with murder, and Luther, but I don’t know which one to start first. Any ideas?

I’m watching My Hero Academia ( while also reading the manga ) I’m literally so in love with it. Aaaand I’m in the last season of Vikings, but then again I don’t want to finish it because waiting till November is too much for my poor soul

I've been catching up on S2 of the Good Place. I watched 10(ish) episodes yesterday.

I've been considering getting Hulu so I can watch B99 legally for the next season (the watch series put soooooo many viruses on my devices ugh) because B99 is amazing and a gift to us all.

I am watching The Handmaids Tale Season 2, in German - one episode per Week and there are 10 episodes released so far.
It's one of the best series i've ever seen, but also extremly shocking and sometimes hard to watch.
My Boyfriend and I started to watch "Maniac" on Netflix and I love it, it's like a scifi movie from the 80's and very interesting and very special :D.

Lauren I love watching shawdownhunters. I am currently on season 3. But I have just finished Dynasty which was fantastic, can’t wait for season 2.

@Tales_Corner I recently started to watch Maniac too, I'm not too sure of it yet but it definitely looks interesting!

If you guys haven't watched it yet I would really recommend The Good Place (from the creator of Parks and Rec and Brooklyn 99) which I believe is on ABC in the US but I have been watching it on Netflix and it is so so good, absolutely hilarious with lots of talk of moral philosophy.

Also Killing Eve on the BBC is really good and it has Sandra Oh (from Greys) in it and it based on a book called Codename Villanelle.

Are the books worth reading, I love the TV show but any of my friends that have read the books have said that they can be a little tough to get through which has always stuck in my head when I have hovered over them on the shelf!

The first few books are great but after those there's so many characters to keep track of! I DNF the last one til I watched the TV series and then it was easier coz I could put faces to names.

My favorite tv shows are Fringe, The X Files, The Mindy Project, Insecure & The Affair.

I've been watching a lot recently; New Girl, The Vampire Diaries, and Gilmore Girls to name a few...

The last TV series that I finished watching was The 100 and now I want to read the books! Other than that, I watch the news :(
