Change of Heart discussion

I think this is one of Jodi Picoult's best. She covers the heavy issues of capital punishment and sexual abuse in a thought provoking manner. Her characters are real and well developed.

I don't think this is her best, I think My Sister's Keeper is. However it is way up there. It kept my interest, and I could not figure out how it was going to end. There was the usual Picoult twist, which I did not see coming. Worth reading.

I just finished this book and was quite pleased with it. I agree with others in saying that My Sister's Keeper is her best novel yet, but Change of Heart is right up there with it. One of the things I love most about Picoult's writing style is her use of multiple narrators. I get so drawn into each of the characters and feel so much more related to them. I would love to see a sequel to Change of Heart. Excellent read.

I've only read on of Jodi Picoult's books "Nineteen Minutes" and thought it was great. I'm looking forward to this one.

Marjorie I think you mean "Nineteen Minutes"- and it was an amazing book!!! :)

I just finished Change of Heart and it is by far my favorite of all her books - defintely up there with Nineteen Minutes and My Sister's Keeper. I to, also love the multiple narrators.....You really get to know what every character is about and I love that about her books...especially Change of Heart.

This was the first JP book I read and LOVED IT - Since then I have been reading her books non stop.

I really loved the way she makes you think and feel one thing and then all off a sudden she throws in this twist and you competly turn your view around!!! I know this happened for me in a big way.

I loved this book and I would HIGHLY reccomend it to everyone (and have done).

Hi Ladies, I've read a few of Jodi's books and I met her once at a book signing! If you haven't read it yet, try Songs of the Humpback Whale. This was the first book I read of Jodi's and thought the story was really good! (Although some avid Jodi readers didn't like this one as much...so you may see some reviews not in favor of it) I thought the characters were great and the story was fun to follow.

out of all the Jodi Picoult books I read, Songs of the Humpback Whale, was not on top notch. I found the book interesting about the whales, but did not give me the Wow factor of her other books.

I have only read this and House Rules and love the way she gets into every individual's psyche and weaves it well with the story. I could sort of guess the ending at some point - especially when the stepfather being a wonderful person kept coming up. But that didn't make the book any less interesting.

One of the best of Jodi Picoult and I love it most!

This one the first JP books I read. I loved! it and it made me want to read more of her books like The Tenth Circle. That one is great too.

I actually thought House rules was her best lol.

I also enjoyed Vanishing Acts.

This was the third book of JP's that I read and have enjoyed them all. Next on my list is Nineteen Minutes

I liked this one and Salem Falls. I think they are her best.

I LOVE her books, and I am surprised they don't all have higher average ratings. My favorite so far is My Sister's Keeper (hated the movie's ending) and Change of Heart.

Okay, I obviously have a different opinion from the rest of you. Ihave read and enjoyed four other of her books: MY SISTER'S KEEPER, HARVESTING THE HEART, PICTURE PERFECT, and HANDLE WITH CARE. They are all controversial, but their storylines kept me involved with the characters (even though I wanted to shake some sense into some of them) and the choices they made—whether I agreed with them or not. However, I just could not get into CHANGE OF HEART. I finished it only because I hate to give up on a book. It is similar to GREEN MILE, and I really don’t like plots about life in prison. All the Gnostic stuff just made me very uncomfortable. I couldn’t tell if Picoult was trying to make a statement against organized religion or was trying to show how even a priest could be sucked into believing in a false prophet. The ending was better than I expected.
