I think that Quinn thought he loved Angel, but he knew less than nothing about marital loving relationship (to be delicate about it).Angel must have been particularly attractive, perhaps a bit mysterious, to Quinn. He wasn't thinking about her contribution to the family's welfare yet.
Of all the children born in that household, Quinn seemed to be the one that had hopes and dreams. I think he was besotted with Angel and loved her as best as he knew how to. I don’t think the relationship would have lasted because Angel was so unhappy. There was no way that marriage could sustain itself in that place. But, I believe he really did care deeply for Angel or he wouldn’t have married her. He didn’t have to.
I agree with both of you. Quinn loved Angel, but Angel was getting a taste of reality and not liking it a bit. That marriage wouldn't have lasted for long.
