UnusualChild{beppy} | 1282 comments Hi, Michaele.

I laughed a little when I saw your post yesterday in the sign up thread, because you went from "I can read m/m" in the June challenge to "m/m please" for this month. (I'm a little weird, and the oddest things amuse me.)

Anyway, probably the easiest way to do things would be for you to look at my books and see if there is anything you would like to read? I'm also up for re-reads, if there is something that I've read that you would like to read.

The shelves you can look at:

Michaele | 6583 comments Glad I made you laugh :). I've been reading pretty much all m/m lately. I like that they rarely fall back on the tropes that make me crazy with m/f romances (like the unexpected pregnancy - that one drives me crazy).

Anyway, holy cow! You have so many options! I'm overwhelmed!

Let me look over your shelves and get back to you....

Michaele | 6583 comments How about one of theses -

Three's Company or Blindside or Galaxies and Oceans. I am currently on an N R Walker kick.

Or we could read something by another author... Getting Lucky or Dating Ryan Alback or something else? I didn't make it all the way through your lists... so still lot's of options.

UnusualChild{beppy} | 1282 comments Any of the first three are good for me. Or whatever. I'm easy. Maybe I shouldn't have put all the lists there. I just didn't want you to think that I didn't have a book so we couldn't read it.

Actually, if a book catches your eye and I don't have it, I actually have a little extra on my card this month, so I could buy it.

UnusualChild{beppy} | 1282 comments I think if I had a preference, I would want to go with "Three's Company", just because I haven't read a menage in a while, and I think that this is one.

Michaele | 6583 comments That works for me! Start on Monday?

Michaele | 6583 comments I finished chapter 3. So far, so good.

I liked that we got Simon's POV in the prologue and then Wil's, but now it seems to just be Wil's- I wonder if it'll switch back and forth at all. I'm hoping it does. Simon is a little hard to read so it was nice getting his POV, and of course Adam's.

(view spoiler)

UnusualChild{beppy} | 1282 comments lol. I was like "prologue? what prologue?" Apparently I have an older version, so I have to re-read the chapters and see if there is anything else that is changed.

And yes, I agree about Wil and his destiny. I wonder why Callie is being so evasive?

Michaele | 6583 comments She doesn't want to ruin his trip? Or maybe people are willing to eat there while he is out of town? Nothing good I'm sure.

So there wasn't a prologue with Simon's POV?

Michaele | 6583 comments I finished chapter 6.

I like that Wil kind of looks to Simon for direction and has a more playful/friendlier relationship with Adam. I also liked that Simon told Wil his feelings were as important while the three of them were together.

I think I've figured out more of what's going to happen, not sure there will be many surprises.

UnusualChild{beppy} | 1282 comments No, there wasn't a prologue from Simon. The other three chapters were the same, though. I think seeing everything through Simon's eyes in the beginning changed how I read it, though. If you just read it through Wil's eyes, Simon comes off as a little standoffish, and that everything is to keep Adam happy, when Simon is completely on board with it.

Michaele | 6583 comments I agree, I bet that's why the author added it. But I am a little disappointed we've only gotten Wil's point of view since then

UnusualChild{beppy} | 1282 comments I do like the dynamics between the three of them, and that Wil doesn't want to intrude on their relationship in any way.

I don't know about the chef, though. I mean, with how bad he is, and his "I don't care" attitude, Simon should have fired him a long time ago. That actually speaks to his managerial skills, which makes me lose a little bit of respect for him.

I kind of want to see Wil in his element. I mean, Simon is managing and Adam is bartending, and they are both good at their jobs. I want to see Wil get in front of a stove and behind the line.

Michaele | 6583 comments I bet that is coming.

Maybe it's hard to find a replacement in such a small place?

UnusualChild{beppy} | 1282 comments It could be hard to find good workers in the area. Or to find someone who is tolerant, maybe?

I just finished chapter 9, and it was a struggle to keep tears from falling, but I was reading at work, so I kind of had to.

For some reason, (view spoiler)

Even though the relationship is developing fast, it feels...honest to me.

Michaele | 6583 comments Just finished 9.

I teared up too! Luckily I wasn't at work.

I am kinda not surprised it was Simon that freaked. I think it would have been Wil had it happened later (like when he had to leave)- I wouldn't expect Adam too- he seems to roll with things. I think Simon is kind of the leader so that had to be a lot of pressure - especially when he and Adam started breaking their own rules.

It feels honest to me too. I haven't read a lot of menage books, but the few I have haven't been as convincing - know what I mean?

UnusualChild{beppy} | 1282 comments Finished chapter 12.

Awwww. I liked how they are working things out. And Callie seems to be awesome.

Michaele | 6583 comments Me too!

I think they are going to end up buying the hotel together.

Michaele | 6583 comments Finished chapter 15.

(view spoiler)

UnusualChild{beppy} | 1282 comments Callie seems like a true friend, only wanting whatever Will wants, as long as he was happy. I was glad Wil saw Rod, just so he never had any lingering doubts that maybe he had unresolved feelings about him.
It’s still possible that they could buy in to the hotel. Surely Wil has some capital from selling his business?
The three of them seem like a matched set, and I absolutely love the fact that they are communicating with each other and talking things out, that they’ve made rules about it.

Michaele | 6583 comments Agreed!

Michaele | 6583 comments I just finished. I didn't realize we were so close to the end!

I really liked it, I was kinda sad it was over. :)

UnusualChild{beppy} | 1282 comments It was really cute. And balanced, even though we didn’t really get to see everyone’s POV. There wasn’t any needless drama, and I liked all three characters. I liked that the book didn’t just have the guys living conflict free, and that even though we didn’t necessarily see it, they did have to figure out how their relationship worked. This was the first book in a while where I really wanted to keep reading after each chapter, ratherthan feel as though it was a chore.

Michaele | 6583 comments Me too! I haven't read many menage books, but this is the best I've read. I think she did a great job with all three characters and in showing how a relationship like this could work. And I agree, I was relieved there was no unnecessary drama and they worked through their issues.

UnusualChild{beppy} | 1282 comments I’ve read several, not a lot, of ménage, and this was one of the better ones for not making me feel as though someone got the lesser end of the relationship. It was refreshing, that’s for sure.
