Bookworm with Kids Nominations are now open for our October Monthly read. The theme for this month is Male Protagonists by Female Authors. Quick reminder of the rules for nominating.

1. Since we're also doing Quarterly nominations this months, books nominated for the monthly read MAY NOT be by an Irish author or deal with specifically Irish issues.
2. Each member may only nominate or second one book. Each book must be nominated and seconded for inclusion in the poll.
3. Authors are reminded they are not permitted to self nominate.
4. When nominating please use either the add book function or include a link to the book's Goodreads page.
5. To ensure books are accessible and affordable for everyone people are encouraged not to nominate recent releases, or books only available in hardback.

Nominations shall close at midday GMT on Saturday 29th September. For those outside Ireland:
New York: 7.00am
LA: 4.00am
Sydney: 11.00pm, 30th September

Happy Nominating!

Bookworm with Kids Thomas will be opening the nominations for the Quarterly Irish Read at the beginning of October and the Quarterly Irish Play selection will be available in the next few minutes!
Thanks.

Barbara (bdegar) | 4626 comments So I assume the closing date for nominations will change, and with voting it will be closer to the middle of the month when we start.

Susan | 4707 comments Did anyone tell you what a good job you are doing, Bookworm? I appreciate you.

Bookworm with Kids Yes, Barbara, as we have three months for the Quarterly Read we don't need to be as quick doing the nominations and poll for it.
Thanks, Susan! It's very kind of you to say that!

Bookworm with Kids I will nominate The Silkworm byRobert Galbraith or JK Rowling. I think Cormoran Strike is an interesting character.

Colleen | 1205 comments I will nominate The Outsiders

message 8: by Susan (new)

Susan | 4707 comments I will second your nomination, Bookworm. I liked the book. I am on the waiting list at the library for the new one. I just checked. I have moved up to 121.

Carol (§CoverLoverGirl§) (coverlovergirl) | 45 comments Hi Susan, Is that “Lethal White” that is just out? Saw it advertised somewhere, it’ll be a while before I’ll get to read it. I’ve just too many books beside me waiting to be opened. Loved all R Galbraith’s books and TV series so far. Love the character of Cormoran Strike.

Susan | 4707 comments It is and I have now moved up to 89. Yoo hoo.

Bookworm with Kids Will anyone second Colleen's nomination? We have only an hour left so I think I will extend the nomination period for another day to midday GMT on Sunday.
